RoC Roll-back at Walmart!

If the stores in your area are anything like those here in central Illinois, they’re sitting on a GLUT of “Rise of Cobra” figures and vehicles.  After stocking the line late and seemingly over-ordering the first few waves, the nation’s largest retailer finally seems to have taken a more proactive strategy.  As of this morning, “Rise of Cobra” figures are on “Roll-back” from $7.88 to $5.00!

Hopefully this puts a dent in the growing piles of Desert Attack Dukes, Accelerator Suit Ripcords, Neo-Vipers, Destro’s, and Baroness figures that are clogging the pegs locally.

9/11: A day to Remember!

Today marks the 8-year anniversary of the most heinous terrorist attack on the U.S..  Let us remember and never forget all of the brave men and women who lost their lives that day.  Also remember all of those that lost love ones and are still putting their lives back together.

A real-life “Broadcast Energy Transmitter”?

G.I. Joe: The Movie (1987)

G.I. Joe: The Movie (1987)

I love a good science/technology article and so you can imagine my surprise when I stumbled across this piece on CNN.com today.

Eric Giller, CEO of WiTricity, claims that wireless transfer of electricity will be commercially available within a year.  Wireless electricity may free portable devices such as laptops and phone from power cord chargers, changing forever how these devices are used.

“Five years from now, this will seem completely normal,” he said.

“The biggest effect of wireless power is attacking that huge energy wasting that goes on where people buy disposable batteries.”

All I’m saying is that someone should check the Himalayas now for a field of giant spores and some blue-skinned humanoids.

“Joeing is Half the Battle!” – PvP Online

The web comic PvPonline takes a fun stab at G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra in a recent  comic.  While the movie isn’t quite so exaggerated it’s a fun look at the new “RoC” Joe universe.

I’ve mirrored the comic below but you can find the original HERE.
