G.I. Joe FSS 3 Shipment 2 is Inbound!

G.I. Joe FSS 3.0 Shipment 2 had deployed just under the wire to make the January deadline!

Yesterday on Facebook, Alyosha of BrokenArrowToys.com shared images of his new arrived FSS 3.0 shipment!  Yes, we’re going to discuss the figures so if you’re one of the few folks out there that want to be surprised, look away.  (Seriously– we’re not going to play games.  Figures will be named.)

Okay, still here?

It’s Slice and Muskrat!

FSS 3 shipment 2

I’ve mirrored some of Alyosha’s images of G.I. Joe FSS 3.0 shipment 2 below.  Note: his Slice figure arrived with two right arms including one arms that was altered seemingly at the factory level to appear to be normal.  (The thumb on the left arm was sliced off.  Ironic, eh?  “Sliced”?  Get it?  Never mind…)

Muskrat is a repaint of the 2013 Nocturnal Fire version and Slice seems to be primarily built on the Renegades Storm Shadow/ Retaliation Red Ninja body so, aside from the color scheme and the new head, there’s not a lot that fans already haven’t seen here.   Still, these two guys are inbound so subscribers should keep their eyes peeled toward their mailbox this week for the new arrivals from the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club.

As always, stay tuned to JBL for a new review of these figures once they arrive at JBL HQ!

G.I. Joe FSS 3.0 Repeater & Psyche-Out Review

G.I. Joe FSS Repeater & Psyche-Out

After a long dry spell, fans have new G.I. Joe FSS 3.0 figures!

This past week, subscribers of the G.I. Joe FSS 3.0 were frantically checking their mailboxes as shipping notices indicated that new figures were inbound!  Repeater and Psyche-Out, boasting their original vintage color schemes, comprised the first shipment– fresh off their appearance in the 2013 Nocturnal Fire convention set!  Thankfully on Friday, these two Joes dropped at JBL HQ which means that Chris “Werecat” Chung of JoeSightings.com and I have had the weekend to give them a once over.

Do these G.I. Joe FSS 3.0 figures measure up to their parts predecessors?  Are they worthwhile additions to an ARAH generation 3 collection?  Were these figures from G.I. Joe Collector’s Club worth the wait?

Head on over to the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club Review Index and find out two Joe fans opinions!

G.I. Joe Collector’s Club FSS 3.0 Shipments Arrive!

The long wait for the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club FSS 3.0 shipments is about to come to an end!

This afternoon, early reports trickled in from both HISSTank.com and the Facebook G.I. Joe Discussion Group that first shipment had landed.  Those reports also confirmed the identity of the figures in the first shipment.

If you want to be surprised, stop reading here.  If you don’t, read on.

Seriously– don’t make me repeat myself.  I don’t want to psyche you out but this is your last warning.

It’s Repeater and Psyche-Out!  (As if my heavy-handed hints didn’t give it away.)  Take a look at the pic below, originally posted by BearViper of the HISSTank forums:

G.I. Joe Collector's Club FSS 3 Shipment 1I’ll admit– I wasn’t expecting these two to be in the first shipment at all.  Perhaps the Club is getting the repaints of previously-released Club figures out of the way first before shipping out the newer pieces.  Regardless, after a LONG dry spell fans finally have some new G.I. Joe figures inbound!

G.I. Joe Collector’s Club FSS 3.0 Ships Soon!

G.I. Joe Collector's Club Figure Subscription Service logo

According to the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club, the first installments of Figure Subscription Service 3.0 should be shipping in the very near future!  Check out this email from the Club that dropped in member mailboxes yesterday:

Happy New Year!

Yesterday we unloaded the container for the FSS 3.0 figures.  We are working on getting out the first wave to you this week.  You should receive the first wave by Jan 23rd.  The second wave will go out the last week of the month.  This will get us caught up from all of the shipping and port delays.

For those of you on the subscription billing, we have set the two billing dates:  February 2nd and March 16th.  Please make sure your CC is good standing before those dates.  You can change your information in thesystem so you don’t miss out!   If you are planning on moving before the end of May, you can update your shipping information at the same link above.

Thanks for your support and we hope you enjoy your new figures!

Brian

Now, the question remains– who will be arriving in the first shipment?  Will it be the controversial Hit & Run figure that sparked much debate amid the fandom?  What about one of the five repainted figures from the 2013 Nocturnal Fire convention set?  Or will it be the odd choice of the Night Creeper Leader v2?

(My suspicion is that the v1 with the Tiger Striped pants that was originally teased in the FSS 3.0 announcement will be included in the 2015 Convention set.)

Regardless of who it is, subscribers should keep their Eagle Eyes turned toward their mailboxes over the next few weeks as two new Joe figures are on the way!

G.I. Joe Collector’s Club FSS and Con Registration News

G.I. Joe FSS 3.0 logo

The G.I. Joe Collector’s Club sent out an email this morning to members regarding the status of FSS 3.0 orders as well as a tentative ETA on when to expect registration to open up for the 2015 G.I. Joe Collector’s Convention.

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season!

For all you comic collectors, the Diamond edition of the 2014 G.I. Joe vs Cobra Issue #7: “Zombie Initiative” is now in the store.

Our end of year and archive sale continues with quantities dwindling down to just a handful on many of the items.  In order for your items to arrive by Christmas, please place your orders by Friday.

The FSS 3.0 is on the water headed this way.  Because of the dock workers on the west coast issues and the seasonal delays, we don’t think we will get them until the first week in January.  Because of the delay, our current plan is to ship the first figures during the week of January 5 and follow up with the second shipment at the end of January to get us sort of back on track.  This puts the second billing for the installment plan buyers around the end of January/first of February and the final billing around the middle of March.  As soon as they arrive, we will set the official billing dates.  I’m also sending this info from the FSS email system so you may get 2 updates.

And finally, we anticipate the registration being available for GIJoeCon after the first of the year.  Please note that the hotel is about 70% full and is attached to the convention center.  You can make your reservation now by following the link at GIJoeCon.com.

Merry Christmas!
Brian

It looks like Spring 2015 is going to be a financially heavy time for some Joe fans with 2 FSS payments hitting before the 2015 Collector’s Convention. Again, no hard ETA on con registration other than “after the 1st” but hopefully registration will go more smoothly than it has in previous years.

Still, for fans who were watching their mailboxes expecting an early FSS Christmas present it just means the wait is going to be a little longer.

Last Call for G.I. Joe Collector’s Club FSS 3.0

Today is the day– the final day to sign-up for the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club FSS 3.0.  In order to provide that final incentive, the Club released the following “group shot” yesterday.

G.I. Joe Collector's Club FSS 3.0Yes, it’s just a composite image of the previews shown thus far but it provides the only real “at a glance” look  at what subscribers will receive over the forthcoming months.

It’s an interesting roster– with many Nocturnal Fire alumni, three Cobra-affiliated ninjas, a member of Action Force, and the final member of the Stall family whose saga played out in the file cards of the G.I. Joe vs. Cobra era.

As an addition teaser, the Club showcased hard resin prototypes of three of the unique headsculpts from the line that were designed by the insanely talented Boss Fight Studio team.  Seen below are the sculpts for Bombstrike, Big Ben, and the Crimson Guard Immortal.

It’s not a cheap subscription– with the subscription running $315.00 if paid in full with additional charges for both shipping and credit card processing.  (Or paid in three installments of $105.00 each.)  However, if you really want to obtain these figures and don’t want to have to deal with the hassle of tracking them down individually the subscription is the way to go– and the only way to guarantee receipt of the “mysterious 13th figure”.

G.I. Joe Collector’s Club Revises FSS Hit & Run

Apparently, if you complain loudly enough, the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club will listen.  Check out the REVISED image of Hit & Run from the  Figure Subscription Service 3.0.

G.I. Joe Collector's Club Revised Hit & Run

The Club posted this brief comment along with the updated image:

Thanks for all your feedback and interest in the GIJCC: Figure Subscription Service 3.0 selections. Upon reviewing your comments for HIT & RUN, we have made some changes that we feel best represent the majority of requests we have received.

Please see the updated image above. In addition, we appreciate your passion and comments. Thanks again for being so involved in the G.I. Joe Brand.

Now, if only they’d also fix the Night Creeper Leader which is a completely different version than the one that was originally shown at JoeCon 2014.

If you’ve not already subscribed to FSS 3.0, you’ll want to do so before June 30, 2014!

G.I. Joe Collector’s Club Unveils FSS Bombstrike

The G.I. Joe Collector’s Club has released a teaser image of Bombstrike from the  Figure Subscription Service 3.0 roster!

FSS3bombstrikeWEB

Normally, I’ve been enjoying these previews but this time I can’t honestly tell what we’re getting.  This is by far the most “digital’ of all of the mock-up right down to a head that might have been lifted directly from a video game!

The original Bombstrike figure was released in Valor vs. Venom wave 7 in a two-pack that also featured the redesigned Croc Master.  That version was clad in a tan t-shirt and camouflage pants.  The G.I. Joe Collector’s Club appears to be basing this version on Renegades version of Scarlett from a few years ago based on the legs and torso.  However, rather than showcase mock-up of the sculpt we get a full-on digital version.  Honestly, I understand that the Club is wanting to release preview images as far out from production as possible but I have very little idea what the final head sculpt will look like based on this.  That might be the Agent Helix hair or that might be something entire new.  I’d also like to know why Bombstrike is looking decidedly evil in that photo.  I guess part of the “surprise” of getting this FSS will be seeing what Bombstrike actually looks like when she arrives.

If you’ve not already subscribed to the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club FSS 3.0, you’ll want to do so before June 30, 2014!

Crimson Guard Immortal is the next FSS reveal!

The staff of the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club have only a few more previews left from  Figure Subscription Service 3.0 to reveal.  Check out the latest mock-up– the Crimson Guard Immortal!

G.I. Joe Collector's Club FSS Crimson Guard Immortal

As far as the updates go, this one looks pretty close to the 1991 vintage Crimson Guard Immortal figure, especially considering the fact that the only new part is the figure’s head!

The whomever is helping build these figures for the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club has a solid eye for which existing parts are most similar to the classic designs.  In this case, the body seems to be the very one used to build the G.I. Joe Retaliation Crimson Guard with a re-use of the Pursuit of Cobra Firefly vest to help round out the torso.  Also, perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me but do the figure’s weapons appear to be chromed?  Very interesting indeed.

If you’ve not already subscribed to the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club FSS 3.0, you’ll want to do so before June 30, 2014!

G.I. Joe Collector’s Club Reveals FSS Big Ben

Even with Botcon 2014 in full swing, the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club gives fans one more preview of Figure Subscription Service 3.0.  Meet Special Action Force Commando – Big Ben!

G.I. Joe Collector's Club FSS Big Ben

Look at this image it’s pretty clear that the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club design crew is a fan of the 1991 original version!

In terms of body construction, I see a lot of parts that were recently used for the Night Force Lt. Falcon— and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.  Plus, a brand new head from Boss Fight Studio is always a welcome sight.  I like the Union Jack on the right hand shoulder which better reflects Big Ben’s origins.  Plus, making him a formal member of Action Force means that Quarrel and Bombardier have some company now!

If you’ve not already subscribed to the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club FSS 3.0, you’ll want to do so before June 30, 2014!
