Joe Battlelines Top Ten
JBL members were asked “What’s Your Top Ten?” and you responded. The lists were compiled and broken down to the ten most popular toys, and there were some surprises. Then you were asked to vote on those top ten and you overwhelmingly responded with even bigger surprises. So ladies and gentlemen let’s get right into it and as well see what some of you had to say;

- G.I.Joe Headquarters Command Center
Released in 1983 the Headquarters Command Center was G.I.Joe’s first base. It could house your vehicles in one of its two bays, one featuring an elevating platform. There was a jail cell for those captured Cobra Troopers, and a command center for your Joe’s. As well as a storage place for your weapons in the back of the main base and for your file cards in the (tank) bay. It made for countless hours of fun and a home for your Joe team when not in battle.

2010 Habro Q & A Round 4 Answers!
1.) Many of us love the realistic look that has set G.I. Joe apart from other military action figures. The PoC line looks to be the most realistic yet, but in the last round of Q&A’s, you said the cartoon line would be the main focus once it’s released. Are there any plans to satisfy the fans who continue to want the more realistic figures?
A.) We recognize the fans’ love of the current styling and we love it as well. However, we look forward to the future for G.I. JOE as well so keep checking back for updates.
2.) With retailers being quirky with their distribution, and many having Neo-Vipers and “Attack on the Pit” Baronesses still in excess, how is the ‘Big H’ going to alter the case assortments so new things can get through to collectors and kids? Everyone gets a fair chance at new things, but figures peg warming can have the long-term side effect of keeping new product off the shelves until the old product sells. Although you can’t always predict which figures are going to be hot and which ones will sit on the pegs, is there anything you can do to shake items up before they get to the stores; or do you have a contingency plan in case they never leave?
A.) We are always working on our wave strategy with our assortments. As you mention we don’t always know which figures will sell best but we have enough experience to take some good guesses. We’re always looking to ensure that there is newness in the shelf and availability for everyone.
3.) Has the positive reaction in the PoC line (especially Low-Light) affected the design team with the upcoming toys in terms of design and gear the figures carry? And will they continue to come with a plethora of great gear that is specific to his or her specialties?
A.) The Design Team, like our fans, is excited to bring the characters of G.I. Joe to life in toy form. For Pursuit of Cobra, the best way to do this was through the gear, which has a way of telling a story about that character. Sometimes that personality comes through with lots of gear, sometimes it comes through with the costume cues. The key is making each hero or villain a unique “specialist” who is unique from other team members.
Deadline approaches for the Outside The Box Custom Contest!

In memory: Craig “Outrider” Anderson…
Craig “Outrider” Anderson was an Australian G.I. Joe fan who loved photography, Major Bludd, and o-ring Joe figures. An active member of both JoeDios.com and Flikr, Craig continually amazed and impressed fans with his eye for the dramatic when it came to snapping pics of our favorite “Real American Heroes”. He passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010. His legacy in the fandom, however, will not be forgotten by the body of high-quality work he left behind at JoeDios.com. I’d invite everyone to take a reverent look at the works of… a man who raised the bar of “Joe photography” for all of us.

The Joe Declassified Project returns to the 2010 G.I. Joe Collector’s Convention
The Joe Declassified Project will return to the G.I. Joe Collector’s Convention this year, and arriving back with a bang. For those that were able to visit us last year, you were privy to see some of the coolest and most revealing Joe items of your collecting career. This year, we plan to return with more of the same, as well as another issue of our free newsletter! This one will is in full color, and it comes in at almost 30 pages of Joe material, including a huge behind the scenes peek at the making of the G.I. Joe movie by one of the Rise of Cobra’s Production Assistants, Josh Eggebeen. If you love this hobby like we do, then come on by our booth!
The Joe Declassified Mission Statement:
We feel that it is high time that we, the fans of G.I. Joe, take up the responsibility of ensuring the growth of our hobby – both in wealth of knowledge, and broadening the fan base to welcome everyone into the overarching community. As collectors, we have all spoken of, or heard others speak of things they wish to see in the community; secrets to be revealed, collecting tools made available, and so forth. We aim to go out of our way to ensure these voices are heard, and these desires become reality. We wish to work with other existing groups that are fan owned, operated and oriented, and seek to put aside those here solely to profit at the collectors expense; those who hold no love for our hobby.
We are putting our money where our mouth is. None of our endeavors will be for profit. A stronger, collaborative community is reward enough. Our newsletter was, and will continue to be, free to the collector. Our website aims to aid fellow collectors in every way possible, while stripping away old trappings that have discouraged us all in the past. With you, we will forge a stronger and united community based on sharing, inclusion and assistance. Now is the time for us to all come together and lead G.I. Joe back to being the number one toy brand is has been various times in the past. With you, we can make this happen. The future is yours.
