Sure Fire is latest reveal from the “Club Sub”

Sure Fire is latest reveal in the Collector’s Club Figure Subscription Service!

Based heavily on the 2002 v2 version, he’s the latest in a long string of reveals from the Club.  (It also looks like he’s got the same vest as the Renegades version of Law. )  Personally I hope his green is a bit more subdued in person as this one is almost bordering on neon.  It very well could be the lighting but it’s pretty garish right now.  That being said, I do prefer the v2 coloring over that of the original.  It fits more with the varied look of the Joe team with uniforms consisting of Hawaiian shirts and sports jerseys.  Sharp-eyed fans will note that this new version now sports a beard whereas the original v2 was clean-shaven.  I’m still not entirely sold on this subscription service yet; this figure pushes me slightly more in the “going to take the plunge” category but not very far.

As always, no pricing has yet been announced; fans will have to keep their eyes peeled on Figure Subscription Service page of GIJoeClub.com for details.

BBTS Dreadnoks & Renegades sets previewed at TNI!

Wow… talk about a sneak preview!  The good folks at BigBadToyStore.com shocked fans a few weeks back with the preview of their Renegades and Dreadnoks seven packs!  Not content to just let things go at that, BBTS recently shared some samples with ToyNewsI.com– OF ALL 14 FIGURES!!!

Check out the preview of BBTS Exclusive Renegades & Slaughter’s Maruaders @ TNI

WOW.  Yeah, just WOW.  I’m a fan of these sets already but this preview really pushed these to the “top of my list” in terms of anticipation.  I’ve been enjoying the Collector’s Club previews of their subscription service but these two sets just blow me away in terms of character selection, price, and design.  Plus, with BBTS’ combo pack of both the 7 packs and the 2 previously-released Resolute packs for only $

Run, don’t walk and pre-order these sets today!

Grunt w/ Glider is the latest subscription figure reveal from the Collector’s Club!

The folks at the Collector’s Club are at it again– with the latest figure to be revealed is GRUNT in desert colors.

Sure, he’s an homage to the old Falcon glider version and he’s using the Resolute glider pack but I much prefer this head over the previously 25A 3-pack version of Robert W. Graves.

Here’s the verbiage from the Club with more details:

Dice is the next Collector’s Club subscription figure!

The Collector’s Club has revealed the next figure in their subscription service!

We have another exciting figure preview from our upcoming monthly subscription service… Cobra Ninja Commando: DICE!

Two exclusive figures packaged individually on a 25th Anniversary style blister card will ship each month. These are only available through the GIJCC Subscription service from Fun Publications. As an added bonus, by signing up for the full six month subscription you will receive a FREE bonus 13th figure.

Note: This Subscription Service is an additional option to your Club Membership. Keep watching GIJoeClub.com for more exclusive figure reveals!

See, I’m now more conflicted about this subscription.  I was all set to pass because of figures like Quarrel and the Nano-BAT which I have ZERO interest in.  Topside was an interesting choice but not really the big “oomph” I felt the Club needed to showcase.  Still, he’s a figure that I don’t have in the new style and so he raised my interest a bit. Dice takes things further in the “probably going to subscribe” department solely because I like the character– especially after his recent appearances in IDW’s Snake Eyes solo series.

I’ve mirrored the pic below for those who are interested.  Between this reveal and the recent BBTS exclusive sets my Joe interest is on the rise again.

Zed takes on “The Many Faces of Firefly” in a mega-review

The Many Faces of Firefly

The Many Faces of Firely @ ZedsJoeSite.com

It’s been forever since I’ve written a review for JBL.  However, that hasn’t stopped me from still reading reviews of Joe products both old and new.   As such, I’ve been LOVING the “Many Faces Of…” series that Zed has been posting over at ZedsJoeSite.com.  Sure, I may not always agree with his ratings but I still enjoy seeing such a comprehensive look at the many versions of a single character that Hasbro has inundated fans and collectors since the relaunch of G.I. Joe back in 2000.

It seemed a no-brainer that both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow would be featured given the fact that they seem to have a new version released every third Thursday of the month.  However, I was extremely pleased to see that Zed takes on Cobra’s premiere saboteur in his latest installment!

Check out The Many Faces of Firefly over at Zed’s site!
