Resolute Airs Tonight! News Highlights!

resolute First off  let me start out by saying “I’m Back” not that I went any where but my computer did. Here are some highlights that are currently happening.

  • First up “Resolute” Airs on the Cartoon Networks Adult Swim at Midnight Eastern time for those of you besides myself who have been waiting to watch it all at once.
  •  Next up There have been a lot of great customs this week in the Custom Central Command .
  • Generals Joes has links to a ton of new figure pics that have been found on e-bay.
  • A new listing on a Target computer is for a GI Joe then and now Vehicle and Figure. This should be considered a rumor until we some offical word on this. Head over to Checkpoint Alpha to join in on the speculation!
  • Last but not least Cmderinchief has posted in hand pics of Rise of COBRA Cobra Commander head over and check them out!

Hasbro announces SDCC Exclusives!

Following on the heels of the past two years worth of successful summer exclusives, Hasbro issued the following press release today:

Hasbro announces its special edition G.I. JOE figures for San Diego Comic-Con

G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA 12” BARONESS Special Edition Figure

(Adult Colletible; Approximate Retail Price: $29.99; Available through Hasbro at San Diego Comic-Con)

Just in time for the release of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, due out on August 7th from Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment, in association with Hasbro, Hasbro introduces the first and only 12” BARONESS figure. The figure, in the likeness of BARONESS actress Sienna Miller as seen in the upcoming movie, features a soft goods trench coat and body suit as well as multiple signature weapons. The figure comes with an R. Black designed “COBRA recruiting poster” featuring BARONESS and features the “COBRA Office of Propaganda” seal of approval. The figure and poster are packaged together in a premium faux-leather box with embossed foil.

G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA 3 ¾” DESTRO 2-Pack Special Edition Figures

(Ages 4 and Up; Approximate Retail Price: $24.99; Available through Hasbro at San Diego Comic-Con)

Covertly retrieved from a G.I. JOE evidence storage facility and released by the “COBRA Office of Propaganda,” this special edition 3 ¾” DESTRO 2-Pack represents James “Destro” McCullen’s personal bound tome containing the history of the Clan McCullen. Opens to reveal two fully articulated 3 ¾” carded McCullen figures with masks and accessories as seen in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, as well as a timeline highlighting the weapons supplying escapades of each McCullen generation throughout history.

Details on GIJoe Season 1, Vol 1 DVD release!

Shout! Factorygijoe-s1pt1_int has revealed a new “beauty shot” picture of their packaging – including the discs, disc case, outer slipcover and bonus rub-on tatoos – for their upcoming release of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero – Season 1.1 on DVD. This item will be available at general retail starting July 21st<

Around the same time, Shout! will also be making a <G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero – The Complete Series available in a special “footlocker”-style package, but it will only be available for sale initially at the San Diego Comic Con (July 23-26), and then exclusively online at a secure website (the details of which have yet to be revealed). After an undetermined amount of time, the Complete Series set will then be made available in stores.

In the meantime, the coolness factor of these releases has gone up even further, with word from the DVD producer at Shout!’s message boards that he is painstakingly trying to make every effort to deliver the original broadcast versions of every Sunbow-produced episode, where at all possible. And Shout!’s disc-by-disc “track” listing for the Season 1.1 set has been revealed at their official consumer site, including interesting new details about the bonus material. Here’s that list, followed by the new shot of the package:

IDW extends two series!

IDW Publishing is enjoying a good run with the current job comic– to the point where they’ve opted to extend two mini-series to ongoing status.

It’s the year of G.I. JOE!  Building on the tremendous fan support of G.I. JOE: Origins and G.I. JOE: COBRA, published under license from Hasbro, Inc., IDW is pleased to announce extensions for both mini-series! Offering a look at the people who make up the team, G.I. JOE: Origins will become an ongoing series, starting in August. G.I. JOE: COBRA Special #1 will be released in September, offering insights inspired by revelations in issue #4 of that series, on-sale in June.
“Reaction to all three of our G.I. JOE series has been beyond expectations, with both fans and critics raving about Origins and COBRA in particular,” said Andy Schmidt, IDW ‘s G.I. JOE editor. “After seeing the fan response of both series, we came up with enough great content to extend them both. Even though neither series is over yet, fans are already asking for more. IDW’s panel at FX International!

Rise of Cobra novelisation release date!

gijoe_novelLooking for something to read during those hot summer afternoons?  On June 23, 2009 pick up the official novelisation of the motion picture GIJoe: The Rise of Cobra.  Written by Max Allen Collins, the paperback will be 272 pages in length and will detail the plot of the Stephen Sommers motion picture.

Those who wish to remain spoiler-free should probably avoid this item.
