Now I get to put the laughter in Slaughter!
It’s been a busy weekend here at JBL HQ and I apologize for not getting these up sooner.
Friday Hasbro knocked everyone’s socks off with an unprecedented “info dump” for Retalation– in the form of HI-RES images of everything from Basic Figure assortment to Alpha Vehicles to figure battle sets to kids role-play gear. It’s a lot of images to digest– but I’m going to post them based upon which assortment they fall into.
It’s a lot of Joe overload all in one post!

As some of you might have noticed, the latest Collector’s Club newsletter seemed to get ahead of itself with regards to the “ever-forthcoming” Figure Subscription Service from the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club.
Last night, members of the club received the following update:
Here is the update for the Figure Subscription Service: When we published the last club magazine, we thought that we had the FSS finished but we found another set of bugs. We are still hoping to finish this any day as they are very close.
We apologize for this dragging out as we never intended for it to take this long. We are just as frustrated as you are, so please hang in there. The end date will be adjusted accordingly.
Thanks for your understanding and support,
Brian
So, the news is that there is no news. While I can understand that this is a brand new endeavor for the club and that there is a bit of a learning curve, it would seem that the PR branch of GIJCC has been putting the “cart before the horse” pretty frequently by speaking well before things were ready. All of the momentum that was gained by the image releases last year will have to be regained in order for this to be a true break-away success. Hopefully the folks in Texas can get things sorted out in due time and can give us some actual concrete information in the near future.
This is a time for less talk and more action! BBTS now has the exclusive 7-packs listed as IN STOCK!!! That can only mean that it’s just a matter of time until pre-orders for these plastic gems start shipping! As of right now, not a single set is listed as “sold out” which means there’s still time to add Sgt. Falcon, Barbecue, Spirit, Mercer, Taurus, Red Dog, Zanzibar, Burnout, Thrasher, Road Pig, Gnawgahyde, Zanya, and Xandar to your Joe collections! (No “licensing friendly” names used around here!)
Seriously– run, don’t walk and order these today!!!
Okay, it’s a mega-update for the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club Figure Subscription Service (aka “Club Sub”) and it’s full of card art and terms and conditions!
First off, over the past few weeks the GIJCC has been releasing images of the card art for all 12 of the revealed FSS figures. Now, this has caused some degree of controversy over the perceived quality of the art. Personally, I feel that’s for each fan to decide on their own. All 12 artwork previews are posted below for your viewing pleasure.
Secondly, the club has released a few head shots of the forthcoming figure including close-ups of Jinx, Topside, Big Boa and, most recently, Iron Klaw. It seems the beret on the former G.I. Joe Extreme cast member is removable!
Lastly, the GIJCC has posted a link to a “Terms and Conditions” document for the FSS. (No, the pricing STILL isn’t available– just the same $20 – $25 range that has been tossed around for months.) It’s a PDF download and can also be accessed on the FSS Subscription page of GIJoeClub.com.
Check out ALL of the released images of the FSS offerings belows!
It seems that the folks at the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club didn’t take the entire weekend off for Thanksgiving! The beginnings of the “Club Sub” (aka “Figure Subscription Service”) FAQ page has now been posted. Check it out:
Collector’s Club Figure Subscription Service FAQ
There’s not a lot of new details here– more discussion of how the ordering system is still being developed, how the Club Sub can’t be purchased w/o the Collector’s Club paid membership, etc but it is the beginnings of something that was promised a while back. It does appear that subscribers will be able to choose from paying in one lump sum or in three installments.
Check out pics of all of the offered figures below:
Wow… talk about a sneak preview! The good folks at BigBadToyStore.com shocked fans a few weeks back with the preview of their Renegades and Dreadnoks seven packs! Not content to just let things go at that, BBTS recently shared some samples with ToyNewsI.com– OF ALL 14 FIGURES!!!
Check out the preview of BBTS Exclusive Renegades & Slaughter’s Maruaders @ TNI
WOW. Yeah, just WOW. I’m a fan of these sets already but this preview really pushed these to the “top of my list” in terms of anticipation. I’ve been enjoying the Collector’s Club previews of their subscription service but these two sets just blow me away in terms of character selection, price, and design. Plus, with BBTS’ combo pack of both the 7 packs and the 2 previously-released Resolute packs for only $
Run, don’t walk and pre-order these sets today!
Somehow this one slipped by me yesterday but the Collector’s Club has unveiled yet another figure in the forthcoming Collector’s Club subscription service– Valor. vs. Venom pilot/sniper Barrel Roll!
The Club seems to be borrowing heavily from his second deco in this figure design and it works. The inclusion of the G.I. Joe Resolute jet pack works well enough as Barrel Roll has frequently been seen with such contrivances. While I wish that we’d actually see some sort of new jet pack/glider being used for both Grunt and BR, the choices so far are still superior to the Air Assault glider that rears its ungainly head more often than it should.
The other big news is that the Collector’s Club has now launched a page for the Figure Subscription Service! Collecting all of the previously released images, the announcement on the Club’s Facebook page promises that final details of the subscription will be revealed on the web page soon.
The Collector’s Club has revealed another figure from the 2011/2012 subscription service– the blind fighting ninja Jinx!
Very heavily inspired by the Valor vs. Venom version of the figure, Jinx also would appear to borrow parts from the cancelled City Strike Scarlett. Either way, she’s a pretty solid addition to the Subscription cast of characters.
You can review all of the revealed figures below:
Facebook seems to be the preferred communication method of the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club these days with all of the reveals of the subscription figures. It’s also a place where the Club has been answering questions in “real time” with fans regarding the “still to be revealed” 6 month program. After mining through some of the official posts, I’ve been able to glean the following bits of additional information:
Keep your eyes peeled on the Club’s Facebook Page, Twitter feed, and at GIJoeClub.com for more details.
Check out the gallery below for a pic of both Iron Klaw (Monday’s reveal) as well as the shipping package preview revealed yesterday!
