Dice is the next Collector’s Club subscription figure!

The Collector’s Club has revealed the next figure in their subscription service!

We have another exciting figure preview from our upcoming monthly subscription service… Cobra Ninja Commando: DICE!

Two exclusive figures packaged individually on a 25th Anniversary style blister card will ship each month. These are only available through the GIJCC Subscription service from Fun Publications. As an added bonus, by signing up for the full six month subscription you will receive a FREE bonus 13th figure.

Note: This Subscription Service is an additional option to your Club Membership. Keep watching GIJoeClub.com for more exclusive figure reveals!

See, I’m now more conflicted about this subscription.  I was all set to pass because of figures like Quarrel and the Nano-BAT which I have ZERO interest in.  Topside was an interesting choice but not really the big “oomph” I felt the Club needed to showcase.  Still, he’s a figure that I don’t have in the new style and so he raised my interest a bit. Dice takes things further in the “probably going to subscribe” department solely because I like the character– especially after his recent appearances in IDW’s Snake Eyes solo series.

I’ve mirrored the pic below for those who are interested.  Between this reveal and the recent BBTS exclusive sets my Joe interest is on the rise again.

Fun Publications debuts Action Figure Display System

Every collector has this dilemma– how best to display your loose figure collection?  There are never enough of the proprietary action figure stands that are usually included with most figures in a line but those aren’t always the most exciting things in the world.  Plus, nothing is more boring than row upon row of figures stacked in front of each other in a relatively static environment.  After all, a good display can really make a collection “POP!”  Enter a new solution from Fun Publications…

Fun Publications introduces a new and dynamic way to display!

Fort Worth, TX – April 19th, 2011 – Fun Publications, Inc, the promoter of BotCon, GIJoeCon and the operators of the Official Collectors’ Clubs for both Transformers and G.I. Joe under license from Hasbro, is proud to present a new and exciting offering to the action figure collecting community!

The company has developed an “Action Figure Display System” for use in displaying different brands of 4″ action figures such as G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Marvel Universe and many more. What sets this system apart from other “figure stands” on the market is the wide variety of ways it can be integrated into almost any collection. It is MORE than just a “stand”.

“We wanted to create something that gave collectors options for displaying their figures and give them the ability use their own imaginations in the process”, says Brian Savage of Fun Publications. “We think that collectors will come up with other uses beyond what we’ve already envisioned and that they will look forward to the additional add-ons and upgrades that we are already discussing.”

Diorama style backdrop cards can be used to create mini-environments utilizing an upright clip arm and another clip at the rear foot of the base. The upright arm can also be removed and the foot clip used to display file cards or other package elements. Carded figures can also be displayed along side an “out of package sample” as well.

The bases have two individual foot pegs, which allow unique posing ability for single figures, giving maximum stability, or two figures can be displayed together by allocating one foot peg to each figure. The stands can be aligned and share a common backdrop if so desired.

The multiple applications and modular construction are why this is called a “system” and not “figure stands”. The unique design will allow for the addition of other elements and modifications in the future to add even more flexibility to the “Action Figure Display System”.

Coming soon – RAHC Guide covering 1997 – 2007!

Long-time JBL member James Kavanaugh dropped this very juicy tidbit in my inbox on Monday.  Now, one of my favorite eras of G.I. Joe will have the guidebook it deserves!

Coming soon, the adventure continued in 1997 and is now completely documented in the R.A.H.C. Guide!

After a brief hiatus in 1994, G.I. Joe:  A Real American Hero gained a resurgence in pop culture causing a re-release of some favorite characters in their classic molds.  This revival eventually induced some experimenting with these classic characters in bold and exciting new directions.  Not only did fans get to revisit some of their most cherished icons within the G.I. Joe mythos, they were introduced to new characters that are now known and loved.

This full color, 172 page compendium fully explores all six series that were produced within the second generation O-ring torso era (1997-2007) including the Built to Rule line and the Collectors Club special releases.  This guide beautifully illustrates the era’s 689 action Figures, 135 vehicles and play sets and 1,349 accessories including all known variations.  Not only is every accessory present and accounted for, they have each been assigned a unique number and identified throughout the resource guide.  The accessories are then culminated in a separate section clearly displayed and organized by category.  Each action figure has been carefully examined between its initial run and further re-releases to ensure that an accurate sample is clearly and concisely presented for the collector who is identifying individual action figures or sorting through unorganized lots.  Subscribe to the R.A.H.C. Guide’s e-mail list at rahc.guide@gmail.com to stay in tune with all the latest updates!

I’ve made no bones about the fact that, while the “no-ring” Joes have some great sculpting I still prefer my Joes with that antiquated little construction element.  When James first showed me proof pages for this book several years ago, I was blown away by the sheer amount of detail that he was putting into it.  It’s a true labor of love from one of THE most passionate fans that I know and it’s an honor and a privilege to be able to post the announcement for this project.  However, don’t take my word for it– look at the gallery of images below which offer a preview of the Joe-goodness that will be contained within.  Seriously– it’s going to be THAT good!

G.I.Joe Collectors Club 2011 Club Exclusive

The G.I.Joe Club has revealed their Members 2011 Club  Sea Adventrue Exclusive.  Done in 3 3/4 inch 25th sculpt style he is the 4th installment of the Adventure Team sets, and comes with the Sea Wolf II mini sub.   Preorder for the Sea Adventurer will be made available in the near future.

There are those that say the Sea Adventurer has salt water in his  veins.  And given the number of times he’s faced injury during a dangerous under-water mission, they may just be right!  From fearless encephalopods to fearsome cyber-sharks, the Sea Adventurer faces them all with a fierce determination on his face and an ancient sea-chanty on his tongue!  No matter how the day is won, the other Adventure Team members can always count on the Sea Adventurer to take care of business and live to tell the tale!

2011 G.I. Joe Collector’s Club figure to be Dial-Tone?

1986 Dial ToneAccording to a news article posted over at The Terrordrome, the latest issue of the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club newsletter states that a 25th Anniversary styled Dial-Tone will be the 2011 club exclusive figure.   No other details are available except that the figure will feature an entirely new head sculpt.

Let the speculation begin on which existing parts will be used to bring classic Dial-Tone forward the new style.
