Press images of Pursuit of Cobra wave 2 figures!

The good folks at Hasbro have sent over some press images of the next wave of the Pursuit of Cobra, due in stores October 2010.  Among the latest additions to the line are the Arctic Destro, Jungle Viper, and Recondo figures first glimpsed at the 2009 G.I. Joe collector’s convention.

I’ve been hanging back on G.I. Joe for the past few years.  Sure, I bought a great deal of the Rise of Cobra figures but the same-ness of the design from character to character just didn’t win me over.  So far I have to admit that I’ve been impressed by what I’ve seen released for Pursuit of Cobra.  Sure, there are still movie tie-in design elements found throughout, but many of these figures are just well thought out.  Personally, that Recondo figure has me very intrigued.  Yes, yes it does and even though I think the hi-tech gillie suit of the Jungle Viper will most likely limit his poseability, the overall aesthetic is very very sharp.

Sometime before 10:30am CST today, the San Diego Comic Con exclusive figures began to trickle onto HasbroToyShop.com.  However, in RECORD TIME, Sgt. Slaughter was listed as “sold out”, leading many to question whether he was truly available or not.

Regardless, as of right now, any attempt to buy the Sarge in either version will result in the following screen:

It’s also been reported that the GIJoe Collector’s Club is also sold out on sets of this exclusive.

Joe Battlelines Top Ten

JBL members were asked “What’s Your Top Ten?” and you responded.  The lists were compiled and broken down to the ten most popular toys, and there were some surprises.  Then you were asked to vote on those top ten and you overwhelmingly responded with even bigger surprises.  So ladies and gentlemen let’s get right into it and as well see what some of you had to say;

#10.

G.I.Joe Headquarters Command Center

Released in 1983 the Headquarters Command Center was G.I.Joe’s first base.  It could house your vehicles in one of its two bays, one featuring an elevating platform.  There was a jail cell for those captured Cobra Troopers, and a command center for your Joe’s.  As well as a storage place for your weapons in the back of the main base and for your file cards in the (tank) bay.  It made for countless hours of fun and a home for your Joe team when not in battle.
