The ranks of both GIJoe and Cobra are bolstered in this latest wave of 25A action figures! Operation: Rescue Doc REVIEWED!

docprofile.jpgThe first mail-away premium of the 25th Anniversary line has arrived!

Debuting in 1983, Carl “Doc” Greer immediately became a fan-favorite character. With key appearances in both the Marvel Comics series as well as the Sunbow animated cartoon, the khaki-clad medic became a staple in many GIJoe collections. It seemed only fitting when Hasbro announced that Doc would be the first mail-away figure of the line that commerated two-and-a-half decades of everyone’s favorite “Real American Heroes”.

Target exclusive vehicle/driver sets REVIEWED!

awestrikersmall.jpgThe Target-exclusive vehicle & driver sets have been reviewed!

Retail giant Target has long since been an advocate for the GIJoe brand. With the 25th Anniversary line hitting store shelves it seemed only fitting that the Minnesota-based retailer be granted a few exclusive items– and what exclusives they are! The AWE Striker w/ Crankcase, the venerable Cobra HISS w/ vehicle driver, and the Night Specter w/ Grand Slam are disappearing from toy shelves as you read this.

Comic Packs Wave 3 REVIEWED!

gijoe_03.gifNot even a nearly total computer systems crash could delay these reviews!

Wave 3 of the 25th Anniversary comic packs is the first assortment to feature all-new comic stories from GIJoe master scribe Larry Hama. New tales featuring Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Tomax, Xamot, and even Scarface are found in the latest wave of comic packs to hit store shelves. New figures and new comics?!! Happy New Year! Welcome 2008!

newyears.gifHappy New Year!

2007 is gone, fading into the sands of time.  With it passes the “official 25th Anniversary year”, the old forums and main page, as well as the 8″ scale line.

2008 will be an exciting year to be a GIJoe.  Hasbro will announce the status of the comic book license, filming will begin on the live-action motion picture, and fans will have more new-construction figures heading to stores than they can shake a stick at.  There will be more dio-stories from folks like General Hawk, Violentfix, and Spin Doctor and more customs from a score of talented folks out there who continually astound us all with their creativity and sculpting prowess.

So, to all the folks who visit JBL to “get their fix” of news, reviews, and discussion of our favorite “Real American Heroes”, I’d like to wish you all a safe and happy New Year!  May 2008 exceed its predecessor in terms of health and happiness!

Yo Joe!

Fred

25th Anniversary Wave 4 gallery posted!

gijoe_03.gifIt’s the end of 2007 and Hasbro has released one more wave (technically two) of figure for those last minute Christmas shoppers! Wave 4, a series of eight previously released Battle Pack figures, consists of Cobra Air Trooper, Cobra Commander, Destro, Duke, Gung-Ho, Roadblock, Scarlett, and Storm Shadow. It’s a perfect fit for those fans who are maintaining a collection of all of the carded figures. As these figures have been previously reviewed, I’ve posted a gallery of the images of the carded figures in the 25th Anniversary Review Index.

Also, I’ve managed to find most of Wave 5 so look for reviews of the Crimson Guard, Flash, and Snow Job soon!
