Rank & File Vol 4 – Now Available!

Volume 4, the latest volume in the incredible Rank & File series of G.I. Joe guide books is now available from James Kavanaugh!

Look, anyone who’s been following JBL for any length of time knows that this site LOVES the Rank & File Guide series. (Yes, each word is a link to a different post!)  They’re some of the most detailed modern G.I. Joe reference works available and have a proud place on my reference shelf next to books by Mark Bellomo, Dan Klingensmith, and 3DJoes.com

Volume 4 made a “special edition” debut at The Last Joe Con this year from Fun Publications with a special cover and insert pages.  However, that was just a sample– a taste of what the full-fledged volume would contain.  Now, G.I. Joe fans and toy collectors can order their own copy of this exciting volume that delves into the world of “the exclusives”…

However, don’t take our word for it… check out the press release from “Noted Author” James Kavanaugh himself!

G.I. Joe Rank & File vol 2 cover

If you purchased Rank & File vol 1 or the RAHC Guide then you’re already familiar with the care and quality that “Noted Author” James Kavanaugh puts into his guides.  For that reason I’m excited that Rank & File vol 2 is NOW AVAILABLE online at RAHCGuide.com.  This second volume focuses solely on the “movie era” G.I. Joe and offers a comprehensive look at the figures and vehicles from both the Rise of Cobra and Pursuit of Cobra lines.  Even better– a copy will only set US Joe fans back $26.50!

In fact, here’s a sample of what fans can expect to find inside:

Rank & File vol 2 Ashiko preview

I’ve known author James Kavanaugh for a long time now and I can personally attest to the fact that these guide books are a personal passion of his.  From his initial layout mock-ups that he debuted back in New Orleans in 2006 to the final product, there is a real love of the product that shines through on each and every page.  As I’ve been pulling various parts of my RAHC and 25th anniversary collection figures out of storage, his guides have become essential in helping this Joe fan re-equip so many figures that were lumped together in the same storage bin.  All bias aside, this is THE book to use if you don’t want to go online to look up a part or figure!

However, don’t take my word for it! Check out some additional preview images below and then peruse through the official press release.  Trust me, you’ll want to snag your own copy of Rank & File vol 2 ASAP!

Rank & File cover

A few weeks back JBL reported that “noted author” James Kavanaugh was releasing a new reference book entitled Rank & File centered on the “no-ring” era of G.I. Joe figures.  Now, we’re happy to report that Rank & File is now available online!

From the detailed photography to the intuitive layout, this book is sure to become a “much used tome” on your G.I. Joe reference shelf!

So run, don’t walk, over to RAHCGuide.com and snag your copy of Rank & File v1 now!  Quantities are limited and you won’t want to miss out on this terrific companion to your ARAH Generation 3 G.I. Joe collection!

RAHC Guide: The first update!

I cannot stress enough how excited I am about KuuKuuSon’s upcoming RAHC Guide.  It was the GIJoe vs. Cobra era that allowed me as a collector to build up the collection that I’d always wanted.  Many of my favorite characters were modernized with updated sculpts and many of my favorite troop builders were reissued in affordable multi-packs.  Better still, the entire era was still compatible with the classic A Real American Hero era that hooked many Joe fans in the first place!  James’ book is easily in my most-anticipated books list– right up there with this month’s release of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Classics v10 from IDW.

Check out James’ first update which includes links to all of the discussion threads throughout the online Joe community!
