The 2008 3.75″ convention set preview has begun!

joecon2008.gifThe folks at GIJoeClub.com have released the first official image from the 2008 Collector’s Convention exclusive 3.75″ figure set!

One of the top minions of the imfamous Headman, Gristle appears to take center stage this year with an all-new deco and some brand-new hardware.  He’s packing a shotgun and the signature weapon of the illusive Munitia  and is ready to lay some serious hurt down on the members of the GIJoe SWAT unit.  However, his shadow hints are more firepower yet to come.

Canadian JoeMeet “Snowbank” figure has a touch of “Hama”

canada.gifAs reported on JoeCanuck.com, the 2008 Canadian JoeMeet exclusive figure “Snowbank” will feature a filecard written by G.I. Joe Godfather and comic legend Larry Hama!

As the writer of the majority of the classic filecards Larry Hama crafted a legendary tale over the span of twelve years and for the first time in many years, he picks up where he left off.  The filecard will be debuted for the first time in the April JoeCanuck newsletter, but read all the details here!

2008 Collector’s Convention page launched!

The GIJoe Collector’s Club has launched the web page for the 2008 Collector’s Convention. While no hotel information has been listed, this is the first online confirmation of the event’s location.

The February issue of the Collector’s Club newsletter lists the dates of the event as June 26 – June 29 at the Embassy Suites Frisco in Dallas Texas.

Additional information and registration forms should be available soon at GIJoeClub.com.

JoeCanuck Monthly Newsletter launched

canada.gifBy now most folks are likely aware of the Canadian JoeMeet, which has been going on for several years and brings us some terrific exclusive figures, such as JoeCanuck, Black Ice, and Shiver. The Meet is held once a year, typically in April, and today JoeCanuck has launched it’s first Newsletter. The plan is to release a monthly newsletter with reviews, articles, and lots more interesting content that Joe fans of every nationality will appreciate.
