Breaking news from SDCC

SDCC LogoJBL contributor Nomad reports from the floor of SDCC that the new “Best of” Entertainment DVD Battle Pack has been put out on display!  While we unfortunately do not have pictures as of yet, the set features the following:

– Alpine
– Jet Pack Duke with a screaming head
– Cobra Trooper w/ Parachute pack, new helmet and the head is tooled with hair
– Cobra Commander w/ Chute pack, new chromed face, new helmet tooling, a CLAW and the bomb prop he tries to blow up the Statue of Liberty with in the Intro of the movie.

G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club DTC Wave 4 Revealed!

Munitia - DTC Wave 4During the onslaught of SDCC news, the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club has revealed official pictures of their upcoming release of DTC Wave 4, a previously unreleased series of o-ring toys from Hasbro.

The line up of figures was first revealed at the Joe Convention and it includes Airtight, Falcon, Outback, COBRA Officer, Night-Viper, Munitia (pictured left), and Python Patrol Copperhead.  According to the Collectors’ Club, these figures will be visible at SDCC throughout this week and weekend as well.

Nicely detailed pictures of the figures in their new paint deco’s are now up on GIJoeClub.com here.

SDCC Reports come flying in

SDCC LogoThe San Diego ComicCon has barely begun and already information and pictures are flying through the internet.

Sideshow 12″ COBRA Commander preview picture

sideshow.gifSideshow Toys has posted a preview picture of their upcoming 12″ COBRA Commander figure on their website here.  It’s a small picture, only from the chest up, but what can be seen looks pretty incredible.

Evidently drawing some serious inspiration from the G.I. Joe: Reloaded series, COBRA Commander comes decked out in his classic hood and nicely layered black trench coat.  An amazing looking figure…but will it be worth the hefty price tag?  Discuss this in our forums!

Also make sure to keep your eyes peeled to JBL all this week as Sideshow promises to reveal more details at SDCC, and we’ll make sure to have the news here!

DVD packs hit stores!

Scott McAllister (Madmac41) happened across both of the DVD packs at a local Target store over the weekend and he’s been posting pics ever since.  Featuring the first two components of the MASS Device as well as a four-piece Weather Dominator and episode accurate figures, these new sets are sure to be a hit with fans and hard-core collectors alike!

Operation: Rescue Doc NOT over!

docprofile.jpgDespite rumors to the contrary, the Operation: Rescue Doc promotion isn’t over yet.  The following statement was issued today by Hasbro:

Dear G.I. JOE fans,
 
Thank you for your support at JoeCon.  We thoroughly enjoyed meeting with you and are thrilled by the reaction we have seen to the upcoming line.  We can’t wait to speak with more fans at Comic-Con next week.
 
We are also pleased to let fans know that after sending out the full allotment of DOC figures from the mail away promotion, we are producing a second run of figures to make sure that everyone who participates gets a figure.  If you have not received your figure yet, please hold tight as the second shipment is due in September.
