A few years ago, pictures of a new style 3.75″ Cobra Commander surfaced on the web. Much more futuristic in nature, this was a sleek new take on the “most dangerous man alive”. Unfortunately, the 3.75″ line went on hiatus and the design was instead moved to the 8″ scale Sigma 6 line…. until now!

The GIJoe Collector’s Club has revealed the second San Diego Comic Con exclusive figure– and it’s the start of a whole new line!
Modelled after the highly-successful “Robot Heroes”, “Adventure Heroes”, and “Super Hero Squad” series from Hasbro, GIJoe will be the next property to be given the “PVC treatment” with the line to hit stores sometime in late 2008/ early 2009.

One of the top minions of the imfamous Headman, Gristle appears to take center stage this year with an all-new deco and some brand-new hardware. He’s packing a shotgun and the signature weapon of the illusive Munitia and is ready to lay some serious hurt down on the members of the GIJoe SWAT unit. However, his shadow hints are more firepower yet to come.

The GIJoe Collector’s Club has launched the web page for the 2008 Collector’s Convention. While no hotel information has been listed, this is the first online confirmation of the event’s location.
The February issue of the Collector’s Club newsletter lists the dates of the event as June 26 – June 29 at the Embassy Suites Frisco in Dallas Texas.
