Stiletto "head fix" by Christopher Chung

You can jump back to the main Stiletto review here. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the rantings of the mad customizer I've come to know as "Chris"...

Fred, Heavy Duty was better than I thought, but I believe my text to you about Stiletto was:  “Terrible looking figure.  I don’t know if I can salvage it.”

As it turns out, I was able to salvage the head and make her much more aesthetically pleasing.  The sculpt wasn’t necessarily bad, but it was hidden under unflattering paint applications.  The first thing I did was paint in her widow’s peak, and that drastically made her look more feminine.

That’s also a good stopping point for people who are uncomfortable doing detail any smaller.  I continued on by adding on lipstick.  The face is sculpted with tiny lips, but that was a boon because it was less area I had to paint.  Plus it let me emulate the classical Asian “rosebud” lips that are narrow and pursed.  (I chose black lipstick as an homage to the late 90’/early 00’s Tiger Beer Girl who almost always had black lipstick.)  The end result was a much more feminine-looking figure, and not a half-bad face.  I also added in some pant to detail the scar, but that might be washed out from the flash.

So while the head may look bad at first glance, it’s not that hard to enhance it so it’s taken to a more acceptable level.

So there are options for fans who want to gussey her up a bit.

You may now resume your regularly scheduled Stiletto review, already in progress...
