Joe Con 2015: Meet Tiger Force Lifeline

Joe Con 2015 banner

The reveals for the Joe Con 2015 Tiger Force vs. Iron Grenadiers set continue as the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club reveals the team’s medic Tiger Force Lifeline!

Tiger Force Lifeline

– 25th Anniversary Modern Style/Fully Poseable Action Figure
– Highly Requested Character in traditional theme Tiger Force deco
– Includes G.I. Joe Logo Stand, Removable Helmet, Pistol, Knife,
Tranquilizer gun, Rescue Board with straps, Rescue Case with
De-Fib Pads, Fluid bag/IV Line, Oxygen Mask and Oxygen Bottle

So, how does one update the original vintage Tiger Force Lifeline?  Apparently, you take the 2011 Lifeline and issue him as a straight repaint!  Heck, don’t even vary the kit but just package him with all the same accessories as well!  He’s true to the original but he’s also something that any talented customizer could recreate without having to tear the figure apart.

I have to admit that, in spite of the fact that Lifeline wasn’t one of the more anticipated pieces in this set for me, I find him incredibly uninspired.  Sure, this Joe Con 2015 figure is an homage to the original and therefore keeps the original color scheme.  However, after the innovative parts combinations and new tooling that permeated last year’s Zombie Initiative set I’m finding this year’s offering to be rather “blah.”  Some of this is probably my general Tiger Force malaise but it just doesn’t feel that the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club has put the effort into this year’s set that went into the Zombie Initiative, Nocturnal Fire, or even Operation Bear Trap.

Hopefully, they’re holding the best pieces for last…

This means we have the following figures remaining before we’ve had a good look at the entire set:

  • Tiger Force ): Sgt. Stalker, Dial-Tone, Big Brawler, Wreckage, Recondo, Edwin “Lifeline” Steen.
  • Iron Grenadiers (nine figures): General Mayhem, Metal-Head, Undertow Officer, Iron Anvils x 3, Undertow x 3.
