Amazon.com Renegades & Retaliation 4-packs are “in stock”

UPDATE: The Renegades pack is once again BACK in STOCK but this seems to change daily.   (5/11/2012)

Mondays… the nemesis of most individuals seldom brings good news.  However, this Monday might be a bit different for Joe fans.

Amazon.com has listed BOTH of their exclusive 4 packs as “in stock” as of this morning with a list price of $39.99.  Sadly, that’s essentially high retail price for each of the figures but there are some advantages.  In the case of Retaliation the pack provides a means for Joe fans to get their hands on the figures well before the official end-of-May release day.   For Retaliation fans, it’s a chance to get different deco’s of 3 primary characters and an all new 4th character in the form of the Red Ninja!

G.I. JOE MOVIE 3.75-INCH ACTION FIGURES Assortment

(Approximate retail price: $7.99; Ages: 4 & up; Available: Summer 2012)

The live-action G.I. JOE movie, G.I. JOE: Retaliation, won’t hit theaters until June 2012, but you don’t need to wait to see the stars from the movie cast as G.I. JOE characters.  The G.I. JOE brand invented the action figure category more than 45 years ago, and the G.I. JOE MOVIE 3.75-INCH action figures continue this great legacy.  Figures are sculpted to match their on-screen counterparts, including Dwayne Johnson as ROADBLOCK, Channing Tatum as DUKE, and Bruce Willis as Joe Colton.  Each figure comes with  off-the-floor play such as  ninja zip lines and projectile launchers. Multiple waves are set to be released throughout the summer and fall 2012. (Figures each sold separately.)

Hasbro reveals initial Retaliation figure and vehicle offerings!

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Hasbro is taking the pre-Toy Fair initiative and has launched a page revealing many of the initial figure and vehicle offerings for the forthcoming film G.I. Joe: Retaliation!

It’s a pretty diverse list that’s filled with a lot of repaints of both classic and recent vehicles.  However, it’s not just a “reused and repainted slate”– the infamous HISS Scout which only arrived in Canada has been retooled as a Joe vehicle and the recent POC/30th HISS has been given an upgrade as well.  Plus, there’s new figures galore!  Even better– Hasbro is promising 14 more reveals coming soon!

There’s even a Kim Arashikage SDCC figure coming this year!

Seriously– JBL has turned into “RobertAtkinsBattleLines” over the past week.  In our proud tradition of talking up his work more than his own mother does, here’s the latest!

Robert’s posted another article at this blog entitled “Cobra Commander Wasn’t Built In A Day” which delves even further into the process of designing the armor and uniform for IDW’s newest Cobra Commander.  For those of you who haven’t yet read G.I. Robert Atkins discusses the new IDW Cobra Commander design! Custom figure contest!!

Okay, I’m starting to sound like a broken record here with all of the new IDW Cobra Commander love.  However, if there’s one thing that can sell me on a new character design in a comic it is the caliber of the artist– and there are currently non better on Joe than Robert Atkins!

In his latest blog post, Robert deconstructs the process of creating the forthcoming Cobra Commander cover as well details exactly why the costume design turned out the way it did.

It’s a great “behind the scenes” look at the genesis of the design for Joe’s signature villain.

While you’re there– check out the “Robert Atkins Art Custom Figure Contest” — in which one lucky customizer will be able to win an original 11″ x 17″ commission from Robert himself!
