50th Alpine

Postby nighthawk » November 26th, 2015, 1:23 pm

*UPDATED BELOW*

Finally got the 50th Alpine. What I didn't like about the 25th Alpine was there was no paint in his hip sockets so you see the white between his legs. They fixed that with the 50th one.

For this iteration, I wanted to give him a slightly more modernized look but wanted to keep his jacket look as well. So, I took his 25th jacket and cut it up so it fits under the Recondo vest so now it looks like he has his vintage style jacket on underneath the vest.

If I ever decide to have him look more vintage, I still have the regular 50th jacket and belt so I can always swap back and forth for the look. Now my Joe mountain team is complete.

I later updated it by cutting off the shoulder pads on his inner jacket as it just looked weird with the double shoulder pad.

Clipping the MP-7 to Alpine's leg is a really great idea.

How snug is the fit of the helmet on the 25th HnR head?

Not snug at all. I had to add padding inside to make it stay.

After looking at the pictures, I kinda didn't really like the shoulder pads sticking out. The one on the right side looked fine to me, but the left side one seemed kind of weird cause there is one on the vest. However, it would be hard to remove that one and it actually is functional as it's extra padding for the rope around his shoulder so I decided to remove the ones on his jacket. I only basically kept the collar so that it looks like he has his vintage jacket on under the Recondo vest. What do you think? Vest does sit a little high but needed that for lining up the backpack hole and also, he does have a jacket on underneath, or at least that's what I'm trying to simulate. :)
