2008 Q & A round two - submit your questions here!

Postby Leonardo T Dragon » Mon May 12, 2008 6:54 pm

You guys know the drill by now... post any and all questions for the Hasbro design team for the second round of the Q & A sessions here.

The deadline for submission is 6pm CST on Monday May 26, 2008.

Have at it!
"Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Allright I got three questions

1.Will the 80's G.I.Joe movie get a special edition release like the 80's Transformers movie now that it's been pulled from the media packs?

2.Who owns the rights to publish the 90's DiC series,Sgt.Savage,G.I.Joe Extreme, and Sigma 6 on DVD?Did Sony get the rights to all the series or just the classic Sunbow series?

3.If the rumors of a new cartoon are true can you tell us what company is producing it,or is it under some sort of non-disclosure contract?

This question gets asked EVERY Q&A. I would think by now we all know the answer is "NO!"

Since the rights to the Sunbow library have been reacquired is there now a realistic chance of getting the complete series released on DVD?

When will my favorite character be made as a figure?

OK, OK, I'm kidding. ;)

1. Are there any plans for the "movie-branded" line to include characters that aren't seen in the movie? Specifically for characters in their "classic" styles as opposed to "movie-fied" versions of them?

2. With your "Hall of Heroes" poll on Hasbro.com, it seems like we've seen what's going to be coming in single-card packs for the rest of the year, and perhaps beyond. Does this list represent all the single-carded figures (aside from the "Hall of Heroes" repaint/repacks) that will be coming out prior to the movie tie-in line, or will there be a few more "classic" style figures appearing early next year before the movie line reaches shelves?

3. Will the "Hall of Heroes" repaints be a shared paint scheme between all the figures (for example, an "all metallic" paint scheme), or will they be unique repaints for each character?

1.Will we be getting many figure packs or figures based on the '87 cartoon movie?
I love all Condor Joe's Questions and add- If there is a special edition G.I.Joe Movie is there possibility of an exclusive figure to be packaged with it?

Just thought I'd make a quick edit to my first post.

I can't believe that I forgot Sgt.Savage and Sigma 6.Sure it was kinda bad but I never got to see the final half of season 2 and having all the series on dvd can't be that bad.

My one questions are this: Are the foil logo variants an actual chase type offering, or are they just a test, which i would not really understand, since the silver logo is gone as of wave 4 '08.

Will the Silver logo "chase" continue after the silver logo is gone (after wave 4 '08)?
Will my past....ever stop catching up to me? (Storm Shadow)

1. In the Comic, its mentioned that the Wraith suit was built by the RED SHADOWS, will the file card reflect /mention/ acknowledge this?

2. THANK YOU so much for foreign exclusives like the SATAN ( RED NINJA ) figure and Ninja-ku Figure ( black Storm Shadow) its been a dream of mine to have figures of these guys and having then in 25th style has just been icing on the cake so a big big thank you but I do have some questions, my questions are:

1. Why go to all the trouble of putting the Names like Ninja Ku ( original Argentina Characters name) on it, Putting a special Logo on them to show them as international version but naming it RED NINJA or Storm Shadow ? when he was clearly a different character?

2. The original Ninja-ku had black skin, why go to all the trouble of matching so much but not going all the way with it.

3. Is the Rumored Pilot Scarlett going to be inspired by GLENDA

4. Can we please have more from the ARGEN 7 and UK like QUARREL, HUNTER, GUACHO ,BLADES ,MOONDANCER, JAMMER, RED LASER from Action Force

#1) Is there any chance of us getting additional Single Carded waves (beyond Wave 7 2008)

#2) Not that I'm not satisfied with the already announced offerings, but out of curiosity are there any other product lines being planned/considered (something other than Single Cards, Comic Book 2-Packs, Vehicles, Entertainment Battle Packs, 12" Figures, Combat Heroes.)

1) I'm quite happy that we're getting the "Original 13" released (Short-fuze and Zap ARE coming right?) as they are an integral part of the line as a whole. While I understand and accept that some parts reuse is financially necessary, was it really that cost-prohibitive to tool new heads for Grand Slam and Grunt? And if the "homage" explanation is the reason then why don't Clutch and Breaker share the same head as Rock 'n' Roll?

2) The 25th Anniversary line was hyped as having the most articulation we've ever seen (or something to that effect) yet the iconic and fan-favorite Major Bludd is being released with no elbow joint in his right arm. I understand the line is paying homage to the classic designs but this particular decision seems to be a step backwards in a line that has managed the balance between tribute and new construction techniques quite well. So can you explain the reasons for this decision?
