Hasbro Q & A round 5 - post your questions here!

Postby Leonardo T Dragon » Sat Dec 01, 2007 2:46 pm

Got to have these sent in by 12/10 so I'm going to make the cut-off 12/09/2007 at 9pm CST!

Let's hear what YOU want to know!
"Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

1. Any plans to produce sub-teams in the future - Tiger Force, Python Patrol, and so on?

2. Will ALL the figures released to date recieve the same waist articulation updates Stalker has?

3. How many waves of figures will be released in 2008?

1-What is the end date of the 25th,Will you imediatly go into the movie line or have a line in between? 2-How many more figures can we expect before the end of the Anniversary line including comic packs? 3-How much time in between waves? 4-Will the current figure design contine or with you change the figure design in the future? 5-Will Hasbro ever use a comic to sell the line like it did in the 80's?

A couple of questions off the top of my head.

#1) After a very brief and extremely limited release in Canada, the line has now completely disappeared across the entire country (aside from specialty shops who import from the US). Will G.I. Joe still be available at Canadian retail, and if so when?

#2) Will new characters from the comic packs (i.e. Hawk, Torch, Ripper) also see release on single cards?

What happened to the Flint short sleeve arms??? Hasbro could have used them on Breaker, Rock N Roll, & others.
Will Flint get his trademark look short sleeves & gloves at all?

1) Will we see any (or all) of the customs Hasbro employees had displayed at the Con this year released to the public?

2) Will all of the 5 packs and comic packs released get the single pack treatment?

3) Will there be any updated versions of classic vehicles planned for release during the 25th line or the movie line (that can be discussed)?

4) Backpack holes are the latest running change that we have seen in the current figure releases. What other innovations are in the works?

5) If the 8" S6 line has been discontinued, are there any plans to integrate characters introduced in S6 to the 25th line?

The Star Wars team will be introducing ball hinged wrists in their upcoming Commander Gree figure. Any chance of that articulation point being added to at least some of the upcoming G.I. Joe figures?

With 8" Joes done, and the only new pricepoint being the comic packs, the G.I. Joe retail presence will be slimmer this year than it had in a long time. Are there any plans to introduce additional products at additional pricepoints?

Will the 5 figure multipacks continue in 2008, akin to the Star Wars Battlepacks?

You are starting to add more Transformers content to the Joost internet TV service, notably season 2 episodes. Can we expect similar updates with G.I. Joe? Especially considering that all the DVDs of the series are long out of print and quite pricey.

With the need to re-use molds have you considered using foreign characters such as Quarrel ( Scarlett Mold ) Glenda ( Scarlett Mold ), Red Laser, ( Cobra Commander Mold ) Cobra De ACO ( Flash mold with Snake eyes head ) Guacho ( Gung ho mold ) for example, instead of the constant repainting and releasing of the same character( ie a 3rd duke or snake eyes)?
These characters are highly sought on the aftermarket and updates to these great characters would be a welcome to US collectors. We wouldnt see it as ANOTHER version of a character we already have.

Any chance at all of seeing characters from the entire history of G.I. Joe in the 25th format?

I love love to see 4" versions of characters from the 12" Adventure Team days (those are the Joes I grew up with), and even 4" versions of characters from G.I. Joe Extreme and Sgt Savage. I know there is still a lot of RAH ground to cover yet, but it'd be fun to see some of these other characters in the same 25th format.

1. Will we ever see a new mold for short sleeve? besides Shipwreck
2. How come arms & heads are not molded in flesh color instead of painted? It's been done with Roadblock, Gung Ho, Buzzer, and I guess Zartan.
3. How much longer 'til we get '86 B.A.T.s :bat ?

--Are there any more female figures planned for the forseeable future? (ie. cover girl, jinx, vypra, munitia, zarana, etc...)

--Will the upcoming Target exclusive vehicles be the only vehicles that we see in 2008?

--Is there any chance of seeing some figures from the Joe Vs. Cobra era (such as crosshairs, barrel roll, and blackout) in the 25th style?

--Will armored CC, Torpedo, and the repaint snake-eyes be the only new figures in wave 6?

1. Quite a few board members agree that the Duke arms are weak (poor elbow bend, hands can't grip weapons, ugly mid-forearm pivot), yet you appear to use them for future releases , such as Breaker and Rock n' Roll. Will you make improvements to the Duke arm design for future releases?

2. Are single-card releases being phased out in favor of comic 2-pack releases? Wave 2 and 3 comic 2-packs feature new characters, while Wave 6 single-cards only feature 3 new characters instead of the standard 5.

Are there any plans to produce figures based on their appearances in the Sunbow cartoons (hatless Lady Jaye, green shirted Flint, etc.)?
