Um by asking you to clarify a statement you made? How is that even in the realm of "Let it roll"

and I said:

So for anyone else: you got a clue what he is talking about?

Seems to have absolved you of explaining it since I put it out to everyone else, but on top of that at what point did you ask me to "Lay off?" It was your subject that was brought up, its not my fault you won't let the rest of us into the disscusion

but between this and your "Grow up" PM I am thinking this is blowing smoke up our collective rears.

Edit: since I got sick of the "I've got a secret" crap i desided to do a websearch on my own. Virtually none of the boards I looked at had any reference to Johio other than meet and great announcements. The Johio site itself seems pretty non-disturbing, they do say they are a branch of GJCC, There are some posts in there that made me scratch my head (One that said JBL was the "public" board while Johio wias the "Private board" which really confused me, but whatever).

Point is I could find nothing that seemed it would have angered anyone, my suspicion is that some people are upset MC is assosssiated with Johio, but that is conjecture since NO ON WILL TALK ABOUT WHY THEY ARE UPSET!!!!! Esentally the reference looks to be much to do about nothing. At least the maulter was something substantal, but this looks like sour grapes on the part of some select people.

Okay, guys lets cool it off a bit here.

I for one don't know what the whole "Johiogate" thing is about, and really I don't care.

It should have never been brought up in the first place, it's like letting a joke and not letting anyone in on the punch line. Obviously this is one punch line we don't need to know. If anyone feels they need to discuss it any further take it to PM's.

So let's just drop the whole thing.

For me the biggest reason I'm not going this year is the scheduling.
The week of the Con is smack dab in between the last week of the spring semester and Finals week. Not the best time to head out of town.

Also I'm going to Ecuador for three weeks in June with school and rather spend my money on that trip.

I'm not going cause it's too far to drive and I don't fly is my main reason, Plus most of my friends aren't going this year and last but not least after getting the new sculpt set last year I really don't want to go back to an O-ring set.
As far as the bickering goes drop it.

To zed and jamar,

JOhio-gate is really a regional issue that would detract from these forums too much. You're also going to get two different stories from both sides of that issue and there's still some very sore feelings over the whole thing. If you really want the gory details, contact Hela-Viper and he'll fill you in. Otherwise, it's just more fanboy drama that those who weren't involved really won't find that interesting and those that were are still pissed about (and yeah, I'm one of 'em).

zeee TROOF!!! That's basically the long and short of it.

Anywhos... We were planning on attending this year, but then Mo's boss dropped a bomb on her that she'd be losing her job around the same time, so we didn't think it was financially responsible. Which sucks, as my wife is from there, and she's been bugging me to get back to Boston ASAP, this would have been the perfect Con for us.

Oh for crying out loud, this whole J-Ohio thing is ridiculous, and we're not going to play this game of "Privileged Conversation". Zedhatch is right, if people are not going to elaborate, then don't bring it up and flaunt what others don't know. Sheesh, it's not like it's any big secret, as this was played out very publically.

Bottom line: a group of Ohio 'Joe fans came together to form the unofficial J-Ohio group. Then, after a while, it became a dedicated regional group. When this happened, said founders of the group (two in particular) were going to make it official. However, someone else in the group allegedly decided to do that on their own; being accused of doing it behind everyone's backs, taking others' hard work as their own, securing the domain name, and registering it as "J-Ohio" with the 'Joe Club, all without the two people who's project this was. Said person apparently also put himself in charge. Feelings were hurt, there were cries of betrayal and theft on both sides, and bad blood and ire ensued. Those who stayed, stayed. Those who didn't, formed The Coil Club instead.

Each side claims different things, but now it's the Hatfields and the McCoys.

End of story.

Wait, that's it? The way people were going on I thought it might have involved a prison shower rape scene or something. I mean yea that's really bad and I can see how there would be a lot of hurt feelings about it, but it's not nearly as bad as I imagined.

At least it's a regional thing though unlike when Bot Con had Seeker-gate over some figures that should have been retail releases instead of con exclusives. Talk about your nasty fan fights between the haves and have nots.

This story sucked. There were no monkeys flinging poop. No one wants to hear about humans flinging poop, because that is just nasty as opposed to monkeys where it is funny.

Back on topic, now that the Con is actually going, what is the impression from attendees: more or less in attendance?

Honestly?

a Lot of Con regulars aern't here..

but a LOT of new attendees replaced them...

theres tons of people attending for the first time..

I mean, last night the after registration , there was at least 40 of us in Pizzeria Uno...
... but there was an equal amount of people in Dave & busters as well...
