Upcoming Toys

Of the upcoming figures and vehicles that are coming out which ones are you all most excited about?

For me I love that new City Strike Beach Head. HE is one of my personal favorites and he looks like the best Beach Head ever.

And being a big Robotech fan, I love that new transformable bike with Ashika (not sure if I spelled that right)

Every freaking one of them, cept all the Vipers, just not a huge fan of the roc viper look. Ashiko, Shadow Tracker, Mail-away CC, and the new HISS are my tops though.

Hard to disagree with anything said. Add to that: Jungle Tracker, New Snow Job and the Arctic Destro with frosted head. This Fall, Winter and next Spring are going to be ex-spen-sive....and I wouldn't have it any other way! :)

There are quite a few repaints in the vehicles but also some new stuff that it is really exciting. The figures by and large though are fantastic. Some of the figs like the Jungle Viper have the visual pop around them that the ARAH figs did back in the day. I remember being so shocked and in love when I first saw the Alley Viper. I think Hasbro has turned on the creative juices more in the last few months than it has in the last several years with GiJoe.
You can never go home again, Oatman ... but I guess you can shop there.

I totally agree with your statement Dusty. One of the new ones I really like is Recondo. I was never a fan of the original Recondo, not that I had anything against him, but this figure is pretty nice. The new Jungle Viper is pretty awesome as well as the Shadow Tracker.

I think aside from the great new figures, a lot of the new gear is pretty amazing.

A lot of this stuff is just plain sick. An awesome marriage of military and sci-fi, much in the vein of Metal Gear Solid, which couldn't be any more up my alley. I'm a huge fan of that style, and The Pursuit of COBRA is just working that magic.

My favorites over all:

JOE

- Recondo
- Beachhead
- Snake Eyes (City Strike)
- Ripcord (Desert Battle)

COBRA

- Zartan
- Firefly
- Shadow Tracker
- Jungle-Viper

I actually really want to see Jungle-Viper without those crazy wing-ghille suit add ons, just to see how the base figure itself looks. Sure, those things look crazy cool, but I also want a functional figure, so I hope without those wings he still has some nice detail and decent articulation.

I think you put it best with the perfect blend of sci-fi and realism. That has always been at the heart of GIJoe for me. I could never figure the folks who were up in arms over accelerator suits and what not. The first few issues of the comics were very realistic with most of the team wearing the same uniform but Stalker was in a jet pack. The toon had weather dominator's amongst other things. GIJoe to me has always been a pseudo-realistic military force with military technology a head of its time. The reason I like GIJoe is because it is realistic enough but has some fantasy elements. I don't want an ultra realistic force. That was a long winded way of saying this: These ROC figs are a perfect blend like the ARAH figs were and right now Joe is hitting on all cylinders for me.
