Armored Panther Photo Review.

Postby Duck » Sun Jul 05, 2009 3:51 pm

Hi folks, just some quick comments about the new Armored Panther aka Armodillo.

Over all I like it, but not horribly excited. The missile launchers are ok, I was more excited when the 25th version had the basket and bag. But that's just me. What I don't like is that after getting the nice headlights on the last one, we don't have them this time around.

Also, the decals seem weak, the instructions show where to put more, you just don't get them.

Overall, decent vehicle, love the desert color, should go get some new pics with my Desert AWE Striker.

Love Thunder. Nothing to say, you be the judge.

Love those cannons on the sides! Thunder is awesome as well, though, I liked 'em ever since they stated he was a heavy metal guy in his filecard.

I bought this one for the driver alone.

i may pick this up for two reasons...

1. like the driver..

2. toss cobra stickers on it.. and toss it to the 7 pack desert figures...

I am not quite sure I understand the justification for this to be $16.

Great pics, thanks!!

Saw this at TRU yesterday. Didn't realize how small the box was. The only thing that annoys me is the fact that they didn't put the lights on the front. Oh and also the fact that they have a ton of Air Chariot/Armadillo sets right beside. They were $19.99 for two vehicles and 2 figures whereas the new Armored Panther had one figure and one vehicle for $24.99. Damn, and all I really want is the figure.

I'll second that. The price point seems too high for these mini-vehicles. I only got this for Thunder, but it felt like a rip-off. :sadness

So, wait - is Thunderblast just Thunder with a new name, or is he an original character? What's his file name?

I do like this. Especially finally getting a version of the Resolute Duke mold

What I don't like? The price. Oh jeez. The PRICE. Deluxe Transformers are cheaper than this. They are $10 cheaper than this. A 3 pack of Deluxe Transformers, or an Ultra Transformer, are both cheaper than the Bravo pricepoint, which was a kick in the nads when I finally went to pick up the Steel Crusher

What the hell is with this price? I mean, $25 AUS I could have seen. That would have been acceptable. But bloody $35? That's insane

I'm only getting vehicles from this line when they're on sale. Its that bloody insane

I can see the most part of the next Q&A pretty simply: "What is with the insanely high price hike on vehicles?"

TRU Canada has it for $25 and it was sitting right beside the Armadillo/Air Chariot set which was $20...haha. I broke down and got the Armored Panther from Walmart for $20 though. I really wanted the Thunder figure and the second time I went back to TRU, it seemed like they sold more than half their ROC inventory, and I tell you, they had a LOT.
