Talk about pre-con tours...Arizona, Missouri, Bowfin, Pacific Aviation Museum, Waikiki, Polyneasian Cultural Center, Haleiwa, etc etc and that's just Oahu!

Yeah, except the Cons are expensive enough already. Trying to pay for airfare and a hotel in Hawaii is going to drive that through the roof.

Never been but would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go!!!! I have always had a penchance for Asian/Polynesian ethnicity, and the fact that while Hawai'i is the 50th United State, it still maintains an independence and cultural heritage that dates back cenuries.....

Ok, maybe I should have been more clear. Dealers aside, how many of you fellow fans would want to travel to Hawaii. Thank you Scarlett, I'd welcome you to my home state!

From a business standpoint, I can understand the reluctance of many dealers to come to Hawaii, but many of them know how to work out a way to write off the expenses of going to Hawaii. There is a reason that most national retailers have their highest volume stores in Hawaii (average is 140% better per sq ft). And remember there are some established dealers here too. Plus, I found that I enjoyed the seminars, the guests and especially the company of other collectors much more than I liked the dealers room. Seems to me that the dealers room seems to be a source of most of the complaints about what was wrong with the '07 con.

Plus remember, Hawaii is home to a massive per capita military population. Many of those guys and gals are fans too.

Sorry but there is no way to write it off as just about every dealer is not a true business, they are just Joe fans. Shipping their stock there would be way too high. There is no way the Convention will ever be there, nice dream, but aint going to happen, when tickets to Hawaii are $700+ not many people will show up. Sorry it is not going to happen.
