CAPTAIN GRID-IRON
As much of a "hated" figure by the Joe community Can get,
I never seen a Sunbow show, and all I have to go by is that my Buddys younger brother's storys of hoe "Capt Grid-Iron" was the coolest joe ever. I was "out" of joe then and he had a complete figure and I thought he was REAL cool. He was a Quarterback with Football grenades?? Sweet. He could hit a view port in a bunker at 80+ yards!!
Body is Resolut Duke Legs, and Comic Pack Firefly Torso and arms,with a little sculpting to get Grid-Irons "collar", and original Grid-Iron head and equipment.
His Original card clearly says he comes with a "machine gun" so I made an ammo box and ammo belt run through his MG.
I custom Fabricated "football" style armor using a Jango-Fett armor, and my Vacu-form technique for the shoulders. Made a strap with metal buckels and string laces for that "football" look. The Armors Shouldr pads are connected with Rexlace so they are movable and allow full range of movement.
I didnt like the Idea of football grenade just Danglin on his leg so I Made a peice of Styrene "armor" to hold them and contoured it to his leg. It is removable.
The Belt is Roadblock VII and I added a second piece to hold his pistol in a scratch built holster.
The Flak Jacket is scratch built with a technique I stumbled on to stop fabric from fraying. Rexlace and styrene make up Shoulder lapells, and snaps and buckels.
The original Grid-Iron Helmet Was heavily modified to recess the visor into the helmet, and thin out the face gaurd.
Custom G.I.JOE decals round it out.
This will be pic heavy as there are not limits in the competition about how many pics one can take. And..In the INTEREST OF MY TEAM
