IT'S TIME AT LAST!

Zed's Favorite figures has begun, all week I will count down my favorite figures from the last year at ten per day all the way to #1.

This year I am a bit late due to some last minute arrivals to the list, but here we go.

First off the introduction (explaining what all this is about):

http://www.zedsjoesite.com/fav2011/2011.html

But if you want to jump ahead to the actual countdown here you go with #50-#41

Awesome so far, Zed! As usual it's a fantastic list of figures that I either have and totally agree with, or don't have but totally wanted (and remain unsurprised that Zed once again has it).

I'm a little surprised about the Jack Sparrow figure on there though; I just couldn't see anything in that toyline worth owning. Ugly figures, and thought they have the knee articulation this time around, it doesn't look like it's all that useful (from the pics you used). Still...he is far back on the last and the only way you could get 'em this year, so there's that.

Also surprised that Renegades Snake Eyes impressed you enough to make it on the list at all! I agree and I really liked him; mostly because he offers a tiny bit more than usual SE figures in that he has interesting and unique ways to store ALL his stuff, which is always a huge plus for me.

Finally, what I love about this list is that it's a list for TOY fans, in that you don't care so much where the figure comes from so long as it's a good toy (as you stated with Tygra; you're not a big fan of Tcats but you acknowledge a fine action figure).

Lookin' forward to the rest!
OMG I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

Eh, Figures are my main interest is a huge part of it of course, but never got those MK figs in time, oh well.

Truth is I just friggin' love Sparrow, I was heavly disappointed in the older figs cause Knees are one of those MUST HAVE points of articulation with me. Yeah the likeness is less than great, but it's still Jack Sparrow. The only other one I got was Angelica on clearence, almost got gibbs too but didn't. The figs are less than stellar, but character (ie Jack) counts for a great deal with me.

Also surprised that Renegades Snake Eyes impressed you enough to make it on the list at all! I agree and I really liked him; mostly because he offers a tiny bit more than usual SE figures in that he has interesting and unique ways to store ALL his stuff, which is always a huge plus for me.

that's one of the primarys for me with him (which I did forget to mention, oops)

Finally, what I love about this list is that it's a list for TOY fans, in that you don't care so much where the figure comes from so long as it's a good toy (as you stated with Tygra; you're not a big fan of Tcats but you acknowledge a fine action figure).

Not a big fan of T-cats, but a mild fan for sure, still I get some crap for putting figs higher because of who they are. My prime example is Star Trek original spock, I just thought it was a cool idea for a figure, the weaknesses of the figure actually weren't a huge deal since it was an eldery Spock, but I was given crap cause most of the Trek figs were less than stellar, what can you do right LOL.

One more item: Something to whet you whistle with favorite figures this year, Totals: 16 GI Joes, 23, Marvel (Incuding The marvel movies, but to be fair there are very few of the Movie figures), 5 Star Wars (not at all by choice, that was distrobution), 6 other (Thundercats, Unimax, ect).

Bastila has some very cool card art, and to be honest I wish the figure resembled her picture more. That combined with the fact her articulation could be better keeps her from being higher on the list. Still she is a grand figure.

Ummm that is because the card art picture is all WRONG!!! It does not look like her at all. Image
It's also obvious the new female Jedi hero in TOR is her daughter or descendant. I hope there will be a figure for her too.

Actually the card art is intended to look like the woman who voices her in the game, which she was basis of the KOTOR game according to a SW site I read earlier today, which makes it more interesting.

Interesting, I believe I saw someone on Rebelscum mention the card art was based off of a fan version of Bastila.

Could be someone just talking, but I did look her up on Wookiepedia after I heard that, she kind of does look like the card art though (the art is a bit younger, but there is a resemblance). I'll try to find that later today and post it.

22, not bad! Then again this is going over many toys, so I'm curious to see what is beating out Lifeline! Anyway, minor commentary:

- Bah, I KNEW I shoulda got that Wolverine. I mean, I liked the look of it, but I'm kinda Wolverined-out. I got one, thought it was good, then bought another to replace him and was disappointed, then another came with the Sentinel...OY. As you stated: the problem with doing a character like this over and over is that they nail him every so often - but I'm not paying attention 'cause I have so many already! I haven't seen 'em in awhile so I guess I missed 'em.

- Yeah, Jungle BAT made it! Fine choice! Friggin' love that figure. Oh wait...I love all BAT figures.

- Totally agree on Cyclops, only I was lookin' forward to him! I didn't have any in Joe scale yet (mostly because I was waiting for an X-Factor repaint...) and I KNEW I have to get classic 90's Cyclops! I try to get the cartoon versions when I can. Anyway: awesome figure!

- Shadow Tracker REPRESENT. Should be on anyone's list. Absolute most unique Joe in a long time.

- Wow, Grune made it pretty far! I agree; it's an awesome toy. However, if you're not afraid to press the issue, his head CAN turn. You just gotta force it, and the hair bends a little. Not like he needs it all that much, but just a minor thing to point out!

- Bah...never even saw Darkhawk. Don't know who he is and I honestly don't care - I just love the look! Maybe I'll track him down someday.

Lookin' forward to the rest!
OMG I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

well it should be easy to guess a few of them, but where and in what order might be tougher LOL.

I admit I am wovlied out too, but this and the X-force pack one really did kick it out of the park mold wise. I never realized how cool that XMO Astonishing mold was until I got the X-Force one, and then it was all over, I had to get the astonishing. But I am going to try to hold off from here on out.

- Yeah, Jungle BAT made it! Fine choice! Friggin' love that figure. Oh wait...I love all BAT figures.

Same here, Love BATs, Jungle did end up better than I expected though.

He really suprized me, I had two getting the figs he came with, but this was miles ahead of those.

- Shadow Tracker REPRESENT. Should be on anyone's list. Absolute most unique Joe in a long time.

I agree totally awesome, now I just gotta figure out how to intro him in scale wars so that he isn't a clone of your review LOL.

- Wow, Grune made it pretty far! I agree; it's an awesome toy. However, if you're not afraid to press the issue, his head CAN turn. You just gotta force it, and the hair bends a little. Not like he needs it all that much, but just a minor thing to point out!

Cool, I really liked him in T-Cats toon, I will have to try that, I had tried but got nowhere, but will try again.

- Bah...never even saw Darkhawk. Don't know who he is and I honestly don't care - I just love the look! Maybe I'll track him down someday.

I really LOVE Darkhawk, he's cool IMO.

Yeah, still haven't seen him. What's in his wave? I see a lot of Gladiators warming the pegs, and some Cyclops figures. That and NOTHING. Target is in a lull right now.
