  • Renegades Scarlett - definately want!
  • Renegades Tunnel Rat - meh never cared for this version of TR, likely fodder
  • Renegades Ripcord - wonder how he looks without the vest, could make him into Big Lob
  • Renegades Airtight - YES!
  • Renegades Law and Order - Wow what a large badge! Other than that cool!
  • Renegades Cobra Trooper - Hmmm perhaps re-assign them to be M. Bison's troops
  • Data Viper - pass
  • Kwinn - AWESOME!
  • Lifeline - EXCELLENT! Look at all the cool gear! Seems like he needs a Tomahawk to ride in now.
  • Zombie Viper - Hmm interesting, was never a fan of zombies KOP must be scared of these! :D I doubt Cobra or anyone could ever actually control a zombie.

I thought the same thing when I saw Lifeline. He needs a Tomahawk to ride in! I think most of the figs are pretty cool and I can't wait for the Skystriker. Rereleasing the Vamp and the HISS again seems a little lame though.

I really am liking the 30th stuffs. Most of the renegades stuff leaves me cold though. The exception is Storm Shadow but he has that alternate head and scarlett who thankfully doesn't have the squinty "Clutch just pinched me" look.

Some of the odd balls like Data Viper and Zombie Viper are very weird but work for me, at least in a comedic way. Is that trees for the Zombie vipers alternate arms, funny.

I will copy you, Goldbug!

- Renegades Scarlett - Awesome! I've been waiting for a Scarlett that I'm completely happy with. I just hope the final paint apps on her head will end up good. Resolute Scarlett looked good at first, but the final result was ugly...

- Renegades Tunnel Rat - Another one I've been wanting! The comic pack one was only okay, and the constantly closed eyes were kinda strange. This one looks fantastic, and comes with a lot of great gear!

- Renegades Ripcord - He's certainly cool looking, but something about his getup doesn't mesh, for some reason. Looks like someone I'll be using for parts.

- Airtight - Always thought this guy was goofy looking, and I guess that still stands. I won't mind if I don't end up getting him. There's nothing really exciting about him in looks or accessories.

- Renegades Law and Order - Looks cool! Can't say if I'll end up getting him or not, but it is certainly a great looking figure.

- Renegades Cobra Trooper - Friggin' awesome. I'm still getting a couple Troopers from the wave that is coming out soon, but I'll also be getting some of these. They look like great guys for around the base 'n such. One way or another they are not to be missed.

- Data Viper - AWESOME. Good lord, look at all that junk he's wearing! It's even more confusing than the Techno-Viper's tools! I think I've got a new joke character brewing....

- Kwinn - Neat, and certainly well sculpted and a long awaited character for comic fans, but I have no ties to him. Just looks like a normal dude to me. It is cool to finally see some well sculpted shorts in G.I. Joe, though! That's new.

- Lifeline - Cool! Never wanted that guy until now. I love all the medical gear! I especially love the little IV and the bag you attach it to. Neat little detail!

- Zombie Viper - YESYESYES. Gona get a few of these. I mean, not only is it a zombie, but it's a freak zombie! Did you see those tendrils that you can replace his arms with? Freakin' zombie with tenticle arms!! AW MAN that figure is so awesome. I love it. I only wish he came with some sorta tube to suspend him in with those pipes 'n such. What a great figure.

Now, for the rest of the show: It looks like figure are just being packaged with TONS OF STUFF. Normally I wouldn't mind, but figure like Shadow Tracker just push the limit. What do you do with all that stuff? I mean, I'm used to not everything fitting on the figure, but at one point it starts to become random stuff. Shadow Tracker came with weapons unique to him, then they just shoved a bunch of standard stuff in there. Then you look at Renegades Snake Eyes, and he's being posed next to that batch of swords (and the sword display stand) that came with Hard Master. Why? Doesn't he have enough already? What's the point of shoving so much in the package? Granted, that could just been there for some reason, but I don't know why unless he was going to come with them. Now, if they molded that special sword from the Renegades series and put it on the stand, that would be different. They didn't, though: it's just a bunch of extra weapons that have nothing to do with him. He's already got a bunch of great unique stuff! Leave 'em alone!

It's not as terrible with others, but you can see a few where there's just a bunch of junk shoved with 'em. It works in some cases, like Scarlett; she comes with the canceled stuff from her jetpack figure they showed ahwhile back (which is awesome, 'cause I really wanted those arm blades she comes with). I just hope they don't keep up the habit of finding random stuff and shoving it in there whether or not it makes any sense.

Finally, I'm kinda ticked about the Collector's Club subscription thing. I really don't think Mattel's subscription is a good idea. I'm doing it 'cause I want those figures, and my toy buying has been cut back a lot (Joes and MotUC are pretty much my main events). I don't think people should be copying them! It's not a good idea! It's only "working" because Mattel said there wasn't gona be any other way. If the Collector's Club wants to start making figures, then go right ahead; just sell them like normal. I guess it doesn't matter too much, 'cause I'm not gona lock myself into any other toy subscriptions so long as I'm in MotUC, but I hope nothing important comes out in their sub. 'Course, I'll just have to ignore it...but it'll be annoying.
OMG I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

Shortpacked pretty much summed up my first thought about the "Matty-like" subscription process. It makes them a lot of money but there are a lot of people that it pisses off. I agree with you about the weapons. The next couple waves are slight changes to figures released earlier and just a ton of weapons thrown in. Some of them don't make sense for the figure.

QFT, really I feel the exact same way about the abundance of accessories and the subscription figs. I am suprized on how many on "other boards" are gushing over that idea, I see it ripe with crap that will blow up.

On the plethora of accessories: I love 'em. I like the options they provide and even if the extras might not be totally suited for the figure they come with, they CAN be suitable for other figures. Yeah I do like that.

Vehicles drivers tend to be light on gear, so guess who gets a lot of the extras around me?
I like variety, and I like choice.

Now, I'll concede that not every figure needs this sort of thing. The odd Pit Commando, or Shock Trooper is great, and a Dusty/ Zartan style of figure adds spice to a line, I think.
Wave 3 Duke, or Wave 4 Skydive are a bit light on extra gear, and that's okay too. I get the enjoyment of going through my parts boxes to find just the right items for them.
I do like the unique items to be sure, but I don't mind extra common stuff, like SCAR rifles.

What annoys me is the abundance of standard stuff. Renegades SE comes with a nice array of weapons that look like they mostly fit on him. Then...there's a sword rack. That same sword rack, again. I've got that twice over now, and the weapons it comes with are cool, but the swords are ridiculously long and aren't as good as some others. Since i've got a bunch of those already, it just feels surpurfluous - well, actually, what makes it surpurfluous is the fact that he has a set of perfectly good new swords already; what's with the extras? Then again, for anyone just getting into this, I guess these are all new things. Maybe it's just the fact that I've been collecting for awhile. I mean, at least it's not like the JvC and Spytroops days where we got the same weapons over and over and over. The unique weapons are fantastic, and I don't mind getting a few more than normal 'cause I'm such an accessory fan...it's just that I'm a NEW accessory fan. I want to see what they can do. I'm getting that, but then they throw it into overkill and shove some unrelated stuff in there. Not every figure needs to be a weapons cache. Especially not when they already ARE a weapons cache of new stuff AND even more thrown in for good measure. To top it all off, it's also annoying when most of the weapons fit on the figure, and then there are a ton of others that don't go anywhere. Or, even worse, when they just have a ton of stuff and the designers didn't even try to have it fit anywhere.

Bah. Maybe i've just accumulated too many accessories over the years. I've got more than enough to pass around.

That wouldn't be too bad; if they remade that, many figures would have places for all that stuff!

I am skeptical of this subscription; if they make the figures under 20 dollars and at least give us the list of the characters to expect, I would be more open to it. But somehow, I feel like they are going to be 20-25 a piece; that is 40-50 bucks a month. I am in the same boat as Alexx. I do have to say, if I they give us 25th updates of foreign characters like Quarrel and Red Shadows, it just might sell me a subscription no questions asked. But giving me Hasbro's throw away ideas (and possibly stock sitting in a box at a warehouse in China) at a premium that Hasbro couldn't sell at a retail price just feels insulting.

As for the 'retail' stuff, I am terribly excited. The zombie looks to be sooo much fun; I can't wait to set up a display of Airtight getting mauled by mutated zombies. FYI, I think these zombies are of the chemical/radiologically mutated humans more than the demonic undead type. (They seem very Gears of War Sire inspired) These look like they could be a secret experiment Mindbender was toying with in the Terrordrome's broom closet on level B7, and now they've broken loose letting the zombie out of the bag to Cobra Commander. Skystriker. I don't think anything else needs to be said. Kwinn, it is nice to get a good solid Kwinn; though, I have to say that my O13 comic figure display is now boxed and in storage so he does me little good other than to drag that box out, unwrap the plastic, untape, open, toss in, re-tape, rewrap, and put box back.... sigh.. a couple years late Hasbro.

Many of you probably got this email but this logic simply doesn't make sense to me. So if you already have one or multiple boxed sets you can now get a loose set of figs too? So now people can get multiple sets to split up and put each individual fig on ebay for over a $100 a pop? And you can only do this if you already for sure have a set from the club. What am I missing here? This seems to be a scalpers dream and everybody else gets to pay through the nose.
