The reports continue!!!!

After hearing from SOulgem that a Toys r Us exists nearby, me and Uncleneat (from JBL, the guy who built the Destro's Castle in New Orleas 06) decided to go on a rec0on mission.

Well after lunch, that is...some hotel gourmet sandwitches and a couple of beers (Yay, Alcohol at 11:30 am!!!)

Turns out the TRU was 15 miles away !!!!

well,.. it was almost picked clean, but we did find the Spiderman & His amazing friends 3 pack, and I picked up a heavy duty to get signed (plus another RA Scarlett for customization)

Too bad, I was spurred on by the report By Leo T. Dragon from JBL that the Accelleratior suiit Duke and Arctic Snake Eyes was spotted.

we were chatting about not being able to find the 7-11 Joe cups when lo and behold, we pass a 7-11!!! we got discouraged by a large box full of....wrestling cups,.. but on the bottom... was 2 Baroness cups, and a bunch of slurpie straws with Storm Shadow, snake eyes, and the baroness on them!!!

me,.. discouraged, didnt buy them, for lack of money.. but somethng told me, as I was flirting with the woman behind the counter (hey, if I couldnt score Joes,....)
buy a scratch ticket.

so I buy a 2 dollar scratch ticket.... only to WIN 40 BUCKS!!!!!!

cool!!!!

so then we pull up the road,.. to bump into.... A Wal mart,... right across the street from a target.
we hit wal mart... nothing.... just packs we had already seen.... but Uncleneat scored the Black Panther figure and DC hawkgirl he was looking for...

across the street at Target....JACKPOT!!!!!!

2 Helixs! Flash, elite vipers, also a snake eyes with motorcycle.
also those figuires Viperlord was talking about last week.... the line has vehicles! a two manned copter and a 2 man dune buggy, each with a figure and tons of accessories (stupidly, I didnt get a photo.. i was distracted by a soccer mom in the next aisle....)

all this in a town called....RAY town!!!!

Another adventure ensued by taking one exit too soon and ended up in the wrong neighborhood (even by MY standards!!!!)


next recon will be the search for some good barbeque!

3) The Super Shuttle, isnt that super....

however, it IS Crazy cheaper than a cab, the SS office is right next to the Baggage claim when you get off (or next to american airlines baggage claim) and a ROUND TRIP is only 29 dollars (discounted if you reserved earlier)

How do you reserve the shuttle earlier and how much if you do it that way?
If we take a cab how much time will it save us?

There is a link on the con website page for the super shuttle reservation, witrht he con discount, its about 5 bucks less...

but you can still walk up at the airport and pay 29 bucks... round trip!

(a cab is only one way, and although you'll probably get there sooner, it can cost TWICE AS MUCH, 3 TIMES IF ITS DURING RUSH HOUR!!!

SO far Ive been drinking with uncle neat (TWICE) .. but just as we decide to go to the bar AGAIN,

HERE COMES THE JBL CREW!!!!

Cmderinchief and deb, southzen and wife, admiral hunter, card and two new friends show up, so I begin to school them on the nuances of sam adams and eating chicken wings, wile we reguile ourselves of stories past.

Tazzman and his family as well as Madmac join us.. so now its a freaken JBL JAMBOREE!!!! although several joe bros havent arrived yet.. it doesnt stop us form talking about them. (TAKE THAT JAY!!!)

AS WE BEGIN TO MAKE PLANS FOR TOMORROW. (some guys are going ont he con tour, some are participation in a diorama class, whole others are in a customizing class,.. run by hasbro artists. I begin to plan for the LANARD warehouse run (anyone whos comming, meet me in the lobby by 11:30)

l also began schooling some of the New york joe fans ab9out their taste in baceball teams (GO RED SOX!) while we also meet up with George... and a surprise!!! we then had a very odd conversation.. about lotion... and then head in for registration.

unfortunetly, we got jypped again, the C On ids dont have our screen names on them again....
but 10 seconds with a sharpie fixed that. the KIng Of Pain is now Identified!!!

however, who the hell is REShawn!!!!?????

we all got the early registration stuff and begin to investigate our con stuff..

now... before I go into the con toys.. I have to say:

Yes I was one of the people who hated the con set...and I still do.

b ut if you have been reading my reports for the last few days... you will see how much fun and comraderie I have been having.... without buying a single toy yet for myself (the figures ai bought weere for other friends who couldnt attend)

So far I have been hobnobbing with JBL guys, Joecustoms guys, and even Hisstank guys, as well a a lot of newbies to the club excited aboutt he movie .... who NONE of us factored into our equasions about how badly the con sucks..

It certanly doiesnt suck from my perspecive...Im having a ball.. tight money and all!!!!

anyway... the figures I dont like... but from a collector persoective,... theyre not that bad. the mistales of the peg viper have been corrected, and with the chrome masks, they do look cool. Baroness was a little warped, but most people are go0nna address that tomorrow durting regular registration.

now i like the idea of a international con exclusive set, even more about argentina addition instead of a fully UK action force set. and the free vehicle? yes, its a fang copter,... but it is cool looking in grey witht the Argentine flag colors and sticlers on it.

as of this writing , I havent seen the exclusives in person, they were confirmed by a con employee,.. and the con has put images up ont he con website.

afterwards, I met and talked to Dream (from joecustoms) and was hanging out in Gary (cmnderinchief's ) room.. drinking more !!!

the we were invited to a party at a Hisstank members house (whom weve met from a previous con) we had a great time. i mademore friends, drank more beer, hate hamburgers, saw the MOST AWESOMEEST JOECOOLECTING ROOM I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!, And fr some reason A.V.A.c.;s cat loved to attack my vest pocket,.. and stole a napkin from out of it... and kept treying to play with me...

all in all a great evening,.. Im sitting in the lobby (insomniac forever) wishing I could sleep, and rob a bank to be able to poay for all the stull I would like to get fromt he labard warehouse and Club;s store when it opens tomorrow...

Thanks for the updates KoP. I can't wait to meet everyone later today. My girlfriend is leaning toward the cab route because it would be $80 versus $58, the hotel confirmed that it's a 45-50 minute difference and she is having a rough week at work (looks like most of her Friday will be spent in the room working ).

sinchicken and I are sitting in the hotel lobby at this exact moment. We arrived at 4:30 in the morning WAY ahead of schedule, and we had a hour or two nap in the cab of a pick-up in the parking garage, it was HOT! It was like 100 degrees in that place.
