Stuff you would have added if you were Running Joe...

So if you were running the Joe line back in the 80's,.. what would you have created for the line?

my ideas:

1) A Space Shuttle for Cobra.

Why have all those Astro Vipers and TARGETs, but nothing for them to ride in? The Joes had THREE shuttles, but all cobra had was the invader jet and that bootleg Space Pogo, and the Joes even stole the jet idea.

2) Individual Dreadnok Bikes

this was a no brainer....

3) Destro's Caste

Joes Got two Bases, Cobra has 1 1/2 (they coulf have done better with the missile base) destro deserved a place to hang his facemask.

your thoughs?

- Shrunken down Star Brigade: I loved it, though many complain to high heaven about it. Yeah, it was wacky, but, I think that's because it seemed to be replacing Joe at the time. When you read the filecards, it was like they had been fighting in space for years! Heck, even Hawk's filecard talked about some old space battle he had been famous for fighting in. If I had run the line back then, I would have made it more of a side thing. Sure, I'd still have put in Duke 'n such, however, I would have created more new characters to lead a special space team. Cobra could have also had a different person in charge for space stuff, rather than have the Commander himself out there. One way or another, I think Star Brigade could have been more interesting as a small team of different people rather than turning too many familiar faces into sudden astronauts.

- Buildable playsets: We all remember playing EVERYWHERE with our joes, so playsets weren't always a must for those whose parent's could afford them *raises hand*. However, how about little playsets that would snap together to make a larger one? For instance, different places and land on Cobra Island? They would all be little buildings with gimmicks, or perhaps Croc Master's swamp, or Night Creeper's forest with a little section of trees. You'd only need a few to make a cool playset and, if you could afford it, all of them together could make a whole (odd looking) Cobra Island!

- Something for the missile launchers to shoot: Lost missiles. The bane of anyone who actually used the missile launchers. I'll admit, I didn't end up using them all that much (well, I'd use the launcher, but, without the missile) but that doesn't mean that the missile launchers weren't fun somtimes! The problem was missing targets and, for people like me who didn't have many vehicles, small targets! I think an interesting solution would have been the simple cardboard target included in the package. Some of them could have been simple target practice with pictures of Hiss tanks 'n such, others could have been pictures of computers or something important looking with peices that could be rigged to fall out when hit, so you can "destroy the main computer" or "sabotage the defense system" and whatnot. One way or another, it's more interesting than shooting a missile at a figure once and having it fly off to the next dimension.
OMG I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

I would have created the 25th Anniversary figures about 25 years ago. :shifty

Seriosly, I have a lot of fond memories of playing with GIJoes and to me back then they were perfect.
I would probably have wished they had hands with softer plastic to avoid thumb breakage like the re-released ARAH guys.

The thing that I do remember bugging me at times was when the toys didn't match the cartoons. And I always wanted certain cartoon only characters like the Snow Troopers.

Better weapon chocies for Battle Corps.

I never minded the Mega Marines or Joe figures that came with the weapon tree which had an MP-5, the Gruntv2 rifle, the shotgun, and the machete in black, but some of the weapons in Battle Corps. were hideous! Had some of the Battle corps. actually had some unique accessories, they'd probably be some of the best Joes ever. Their uninspired weapons have aided their descent into obscurity.

A Transport Plane for the Joes: Something between a C-130 and an AC-130 (gotta have the firepower for the kiddies!), obviously scaled down, but with enough room in the back to either house several joes, or a VAMP or AWE Striker-sized vehicle (or a pair of RAMS/Silver Mirages/what have you).

A Transport Chopper for Cobra: like those big cool-looking ones they had in the comics. Add plenty of firepower for the kiddies and you've got a vehicle to match the Tomahawk on the Cobra side.

I also second a large space vehicle for Cobra, as well.

Yep, the Cobra Transport Chopper would have been my list, too. I'm still hoping to see it, or a new variation.

Sort of like M.A.S.K., I would have given Cobra some ground transport vehicles that could get their HISS tanks and whatnot around undercover. But the vehicles themselves would have been armed and whatnot, too. Think like RHINO, or the Mayhem's octane truck.

A Dreadnok gas station...also, kind of M.A.S.K. like, in that it looks like a gas station, complete with a gas station attendant, but houses the Dreadnoks safely, too.

A Fang III, Stinger II and III, and a HISS III...different than any of what really came out...I'd have put them out in '93. And of course an A.S.P. variation, or two.

another one I would love to have seen was a Joe Transport, like a C-10. some not huge, but big enough to transport the Vamp, Slam, or armadillo. I especially woulve liked to see the cartoon cobra version, with the snake head (Having the mouth open to hold a stinger jeep, Hiss tank, or Ferrets would have been even cooler)

Cobra Also needed a Large boat to counter the Flagg. Adrien Veidt suggested that Big floaty airship from th G.I.joe the Movie opening. now THAT would have been super awesome!

Actually, Cobra has a shuttle / rocket / spaceship: Stellar Stilleto.

And, as a Cobra base, you can consider the Cobra Mountain Playset...

....um....No

The Stilleto isnt a shuttle, never was. Nor could it ever be considered a functional fighter (as it got shot down during the Cobra Civil War)

Im talking bout an actual shuttle, with more than one pilot, and the ability to carry a payload, or astro Vipers/ T.A.R.G.E.T.S/ B.A.A.T.S.

and no again on that mountain base.... it was a door,.. thats it.... Its almost as bad as the Coastal Defender!
