Ok, I'm totally jumping the gun here, seeing as how I don't have any CC's, but I figured I'd ask while I was thinking about it, and maybe give someone else an idea (or resource for help if someone can answer my question)...
Anyone know of a good blue that would match V1 CC, and a good topcoat varnish that would ensure it would never chip or scratch?
When (not if, when :p) I get my hands on some CCs, I want to paint V1's hood to match the rest of his suit, and (wishful thinking, I know) an extra BFCC's helmet to match the blue as well.
I'm shooting for a definitive CC for my collection here.
Can anyone help? _________________

the CLOSEST i have found.. is krylon fusion .. their blue works great for cobra... gotta use light coats.. so it does dry since its an enamel...
and truthfully.. you arent going to be able to make sure it DOES NOT chip or scratch.. it you constantly pose or play with a custom. itll do it..
BUT i use testors matte clear coat.. and plain model masters for paint.. and well i dont really get much chipping and scratches.. but i dont mess with mine a ton.. _________________ " I don't rock the boat I sink it "

I'm just worried that it'll scratch the hood paint (that I want to do) when I place or remove the helmet. It's not like I'll be doing it 8 times a day, but I wanted to avoid that at all costs... _________________

If you use Enamel...
Well I don't know.. Enamel leaves a thicker harder paint shell... which is harder to chip but once chipped it will kinda peel off in larger areas.
If you use Acrylic and use a very thin light cote it will probably not scratch or chip.
I never really used sealants and my customs stay pretty good except in the elbow joints. ON my TORCH custom I painted his hair brown and he has a removable bandana. It doesn't do anything to the painted hair when I remove it or fiddle with it. _________________ Looking for NINJA B.A.T.s

I tried THAT once... it was messy and time consuming.
It was NOFREEBIE that uses it a lot.
I bought a can at Walmart. I thnk its called MINWax.
ITs milky white and leaves the paint kinda shiney or glossy.
And after I let it dry it still rubbed off at the joints. _________________ Looking for NINJA B.A.T.s

Yeah, Krylon Fusion is supposed to bond with the plastic and be "scratch-proof" after a week, but I let some Transformer pieces dry for 2and1/2 weeks, and it scraped right off when I put it back together. _________________

Ahhhhhh... potatoes... bananas....
Who cares...
Seriosly, if your just going to paint the hood blue then WHATEVER bottle of blue paint you get will last you forever to touch up the paint if it happens to scratch. Don't fret it, man.
I would go with the Acrylic paint. _________________ Looking for NINJA B.A.T.s

If you take some sandpaper or a dremel and sand the inside of the helmet a bit, that would help some with the scratching of the hood paint. Also, if you clear cote it (I use Testors Dull Cote), it should protect it from the wear of removing the helmet _________________ Current WIPS: Dodger, Stalker, IG Destro, Beachhead, and a couple others...

I like Testors Acrylic Medium Blue (I use flat for the uni and gloss for helmets) for Cobra Blue. Acrylics seem to take to the S6 figures really well. I use them on my TF's and I don't have an issue with chipping from transformation, so I'm sure removing/replacing CC's helmet won't be an issue. I've never had to use a clear coat, but a few very thin layers of satin enamel clear coat would do the trick if you are worried about chipping. _________________

The blue I use is Testors Model Masters Acryl Cobalt Blue with my custom mixed Flat / Semi-Gloss Clear Coat mix. Not as dark as Cobra blue but I like it. _________________ www.mydarkcorner.com/sigma6
