Had the original S6 Snake Eyes just collecting dust so I decided to do a simply repaint into a Cobra figure. The S6 line needs more Cobra anyways.

Click on the thumbnails below for larger pics!

WIP pics:

The head and limbs are pretty much done. The torso and upper legs/arms only have two coats of paint on them and need many many more. Sad

lookin good sir... few more coats of red. a few accessories.. and PLOW .. BAM nice cobra.

i do have one suggestion... lately i have noticed an abundance of popups from imageshack... and its usually of celeb nudie pics... anyone else?

if so .. prolly not the best place to be using on a site that has kids on it..

your customs are sweet!! but you have to make the move to photo bucket.your tags should have at the back.

also what kind of paint is that, his head looks like it was cast in red.

Switched everything over to photobucket. Normally I use my site's photo uploader but for some reason not everyone can see it. Imageshack was the next easiest since my photobucket account needs overhauling.

The paint I'm using is Liquitex acrylic. And a matte varnish for the finish. Smile

Like DJango said, the head looks great...the paint is very well done and looks like it is made from red plastic. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Yeah after the Snow Serpent I made I wanted to do something simple and also bulk up the Cobra ranks in my collection (right now it's 10 : 20 for Cobra : Joe) so I'm rather glad this is going to be a somewhat easy conversion.

It's just the multiple coating that's a pain.

I was thinking about using a primer first but didn't have any on hand and was too lazy to go out in the hot muggy weather to get some. Laughing

I agree, that's an incredibly looking smooth job on the paint. It really does look like it was cast from red plastic. I wish my paint looked so good.

Deffinately give us some shots of the final product.

Need some help. Here's what I've got so far:

Before I put on the final coat of matte varnish, I was thinking about dry brushing some black on the red to give him a more "weathered" look.

Good idea or no?

didn't you just spend a lot of time trying to cover up the black?

Give it a try. If you don't like just do another coat of red. You might want to try a charcol grey though.

I'll also share a secret with you. When dry brushing a smooth surface you want to look like fabric stretch cheese cloth or nylon stocking over it first to give it some texture. Works a lot better when using an airbrush, but you can do it when dry brushing too if you use a little more paint than you normally would.

Yeah I did. But the reason was I wanted the figure to be red with some black instead of black with some red, if you get what I'm saying. Laughing
