How about those little ghost guys that were plastic with holograms on the front and a removeable cloak, IIRC. They had a base that had a big coffin and a skull (with a light in it) on top. I had a couple and the base, which I used as part of my cobra base.

I want to say those were called "Supernaturals," but I could be wrong.

I still have a couple of my old Madballs! Those were extremely popular for about what, 6 months? I do remember they had to rename the guy with the exposed brain ("Crack Head") after some parents complained or something. They renamed him "Bash Brain." Rolling Eyes

Oh I also remember there was a toyline when I was very, very little that consisted of a Rubber Caveman, A Demon, and a Dinosaur. They came in plastic dinosaur eggs and you could stretch them, tear them apart and then supposedly you could reattach the torn off limbs. I never had one, but found the commercials extremely cool. Anyone know what those were called?

From what I recall, Micro Machines might have been a little too popular to qualify as a "lesser known/popular" toy line. They were pretty big in their day (no pun intended)

What about "Spiral Zone?"

There's another line I'm thinking of, but I can't remember the name. They were military-ish vehicles (usually with a futuristic twist) that transformed into...other vehicles or mini-bases or whatnot. They had a bunch of really tiny little futuristic-looking soldiers that came with 'em, too. Not GUTS or Mega Force (I remember those now) but even smaller. I can't remember what they were called but I remember thinking the tiny little toy soldiers were really cool-looking. I want to say the name had "Force" in it somewhere (But wasn't Mega-Force), but I can't seem to find it on virtual toy chest....but I think it would have been in the mid-late 80's.

Starcom?
http://www.nemesisworld.com/starcom/home.html

No, wasn't Starcom...these figures were about half that size and non-articulated. It was a small line...I think it was only around for one year. The only vehicle I had from it was a little three-wheeler thing that turned into...something else. It's hard to describe, but it was wind-up powered (if I recall correctly).

Heck, I dunno. Maybe it was a sub-set of Zoids or something. I've been looking all over virtual toy chest and can't find hide nor hair of it.

I totally had Supernaturals. Looking at them, I think I had all the single figure, quite a few of the ghosts, and the Tomb of Doom. Man, I miss these guys. They were really cool.

Thanks. Razz

No kidding. It's retty depressing how much some of this stuff is going for.

Stompers! Wow there's a blast from past. Lost more than one of those in the sand box. Anyone have Shrinky Dinks or those 'sticker set' things (uh, Colorforms is the name sticking out in my head)?

Colorforms! Yeah, I had a ton of those things.

And yeah...a lot of 80's toys to be found on the 'bay...occasionally you can sneak good deals out of it, but a lot of the time it's pretty overpriced.

The only colorforms I had were the Joe ones. Kinda lame, and not exactly a toy.

I had the Joes, the Hulk, Spider-Man, Superman, Star Wars, NASA and even KISS that I can recall off the top of my head.

For some reason, I loved those doggone stickers-that-weren't.

Maybe because I could make G.I. Joe meet Darth Vader or something. Wink

You weren't talking about Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, were you? I had those. I always confused The Wheeled Warriors and Spiral Zone for some reason.

Spiral Zone was pretty freaking cool. The Cartoon, anyways. I could never afford the toys, but the cartoon, I'm plant myself in front of the tube to watch that.

After ...'researching' (re: Shopping on EBay).. I'm getting back into my Captain Power fit again. Man, I loved that property.

No, I remember Wheeled Warriors, too. These were different. It's really driving me nuts now. Bah. Smile I remember you could buy the little figures in a separate pack (though a few came with the vehicle I had). If I recall correctly there were about 20 of em. The "good guys" were a beige-ish color with a brownish trim, and the "bad guys" were black with red trim. They all looked like they were wearing motorcycle helmets. Wink

And be careful of the Captain Power trap (loved that show)...I fell into that one a couple years back, and bought a bunch of the stuff (fortunately not too expensive). But those action figures are INCREDIBLY cheap (and fragile). I was hugely disappointed once I got them in my hands.

The vehicles, however, are not bad. Particularly the bad guy vehicles....if I were of a customizing bent, they could easily become Cobra vehicles.

As they stand, they're pretty good IG vehicles. Wink

I might be wrong on the "Force" part, but I remember Eagle Force, too...not the same thing.

EDIT: AHA! I finally found it. I was wrong on the "force" thing. The line was called "Xpanders" and it was put out by Galoob in the late '80's.

The only example I can find is here.

Madballs are coming back.

And the 2nd line you are referring to? Manglors. I used to have scans of the catalog up, but alas no more.

One of the ones I liked for a bit was called "Real Gear" (I think) it was military gear (Canteen, binoculars,etc...) that transformed into mini playsets. The canteen folded out into an aircraft carrier

I never saw the Spiral Zone cartoon (Didn't even know there was one till last year!) but I had a lot of the figures (My dad found them on clearance at KB back when I was in 3rd or 4th grade)

EDIT: OK so it was called "Army Gear" and has been brought up multiple times already, that'll teach me not to post before I go back and read through 5 pages worth of posts! Very Happy

Funny thing is, midway through page 5 I realised no one had mentioned Robo-Force, then I look at the very next post and of course it's all about those funky little robots Smile
