|
|
An online buddy I met up with over vacation had a couple items he wanted me to see what I could do with. One of the items was an extra ROCC he purchased to replace some of the parts he lost on his.
I gave Pythonizing a try. I had to enlist the wife as I needed an extra set of hands - I may of finally got her into my hobby now. LOL
One thing I ran into with the ROCC during disassembly is there are two screws that hold the cab on that are directly above the rear wheels. Only thing I came up with was to cut the cab plastic between the smokestack and the gray box (you'll see these areas untouched in the pics). The screws there are long...and when the plastic is cut it doesn't harm the cab - there are plenty of screws holding it in place without the use of these two.
I left the turrent untouched. I wasn't sure if this was going to be for his children, so I wanted to leave the playability factor in this area without fear of paint wearing off.
Enough rambling...heres the pics, comments welcome:
I left the interior untouched. Only added a couple cobra decals to the jet and the inside comm center. I felt the copper/brown color tied in well to it. |

Wow, that's *really* nice. But you forgot to do the gunner's turret, and it sticks out like a sore thumb, bro. _________________ Check out my Universe Asunder customs! |

| The green is what makes it for me. I like the python look a bit but I'm getting a little tired of it, but that green just makes it 100 times better! Very Awesome! |

Thanks fellas!!
I may end up doing the turrent canopy yet. I'm waiting to hear from guy who will end up owning this if he wants it done, I know he has children, and if its going to them he may not want it done. No guarantees on the paint not wearing there with all the mobility in it.
I like Python Patrol...but I too am a bit tired of seeing it in just one color. I wanted to try green. I like how the green blends well with the original copper/brown color on the bottom of the ROCC. |

Wow man, this is really cool! I think the pythonizing looks really nice and I really dig the green instead of that maroon color. Great work! _________________ "Why not just make 10 louder?"

Nice, nice, nice. I agree, the green is a much cooler take than the normal purple or maroon. And yeah, the turret does stick out a bit. Maybe just take it off all together? _________________ . . . and a bottle of rum!

That looks fantastic! Great job on the pythonizing! The grey turret isn't a deal breaker, for me. It's fine. If the owner wants it painted afterall, it would look great in that copper color like the radar and undercarriage.
Really nice paint job. _________________ THE ODDS ARE A MILLION TO ONE...

Clean lines, solid paint apps. Man it looks good. You've done the Pythons proud with that paint job. May have to do this with one of the RHINOs I have on their way to me. _________________

Can't wait to see what else you come up with. I saw a tutorial on how to do the pythonized effect a month or so ago, but I was wondering if you had much trouble with it? Is it a fairly easy process? _________________ "Why not just make 10 louder?"
