I'm in the unsure camp. It really depends on a few other things. Finances is chief. I may have a new job by then which means time off will be pretty much impossible to get time off. Plus, if I'm not working at the hotel, I won't be able to (maybe) get a cheap rate at a nearby hotel, which still doesn't look good.

I think I'm leaning to hoping it comes out west again, in which case I'd be there without question.

Im definetly going. My only issue is staying at the hotel. or crashing at a nearby innor hotel for a fraction of the price ( Like we did last year in New orleans)

I may have a larger entourage than last year. trying to get a whole "platoon" to go

I want to go. My birthday is earlier in the month so I'm trying to see if I can save up enough money and then see if friends and relatives will pony up the rest as my gift.

Fortunately for me, my brother lives in Atlanta so I have a place to crash. All I need to focus on now is how I'm getting there and if I'm going alone or with a friend.

can I field that one?

its way more fun than just buying joes:

First off, you get to meet tons of other fellow collectors and talk shop.

also, there are forums and workshops ewhere you get to hear exclusive stuff about the business, talk to actuall hasbro employees, and learn aboutJioe stuff you never knew

they have a parachute drop where tons of figures float down from a skyscraper wearing parachutes (last years was funny, the wind hit them and blew them all over Down town New Orleans!)

The casino night is the bomb!!!!!!!!!

you should see the art and diorama contests, whoever made a 3 3/4th scale Destro's Castle last year is the greatest!!!

yes, there are people selling joe stuff of all sizes, including exclusive Club stuff.

but the best reason why I went last year:

Well, I'm really hoping to go this year. I'm trying to talk my wife into going, but she hates Atlanta (although I do too, but I'm not going for Atlanta. She is kind of interested in some aspects of the convention or of shopping downtown, though.
I'm starting Grad school this fall, but I really want to give myself the opportunity to go. Once we get settled from our move, we'll probably make the decision. Its close to my birthday, so that is a big plus on my side.

It sounds like a blast though.

I'm a definite 'maybe'. We'll see how money works out a bit later.

It sounds like a blast, though.

Well, as far as I know, Jay already made the reservations at the hotel, got the van and started packin'. So as of right now I am pretty sure it is me, Jay, James, Chris...and a few of the wives.

Jay, if you got anything to add...

So we JoHio fools will be there in full effect. I hope we can persuade a few more locals to hop on the train.

I think we will be there Thursday night and leaving Sunday afternoon. So lets hook up at least Thursday night and Friday night fo'sho'.

Si. Our room is in the books. We'll be renting a fairly large transport to head down south, as well. It's just a matter of finding out the details from Master Collector at this point!

I will be going this year to my first convention. My wife wants to go with me so that's even better. I'm really looking forward to it.
