I guess you could say that I'm a lurker at heart. I've been reading the forum for a few months and I'd probably still be that way if I hadn't gotten ahold of some information that I thought warrented mentioning.

So, about myself, I started collecting Joes around '85 or '86 when a reletive got me Snow Job for my birthday and then the Cobra Rattler for Christmas after that I was addicted. That is until '91 or '92 when it seemed that the line went more from cool figures to spring loaded weapons and gimmicks. At that point I swore off collecting any toy that obsesively.

And I did pretty well for a long time, that is until Xevoz came along. Once again I was addicted and not only did I have to have one of every figure I had to have multiples. Then with the death of the line I not only swore off obsesive collecting but Hasbro as well.

That surprisingly lasted a full year but it is surprising how little there is to collect that isn't Hasbro related and besides a Titanium here and there wasn't going to make much of a difference right?

Then I found Sigma 6 on clearance and I thought "well what could it hurt if I picked up one or two so I got Heavy Duty and Spirit. Two weeks later it was Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. It didn't hit me that I'd fallen for another line until I I was paying $20 for a Flame Thrower Heavy Duty, that I'd spent a month searching for, that I was once agian hooked.

However this time I couldn't just go out and get everything I wanted. Now I have more financial concerns. So with that in mind I was sure I could keep my collecting under control. And with only one exception, that being the Ninja Tracker ATV, I've been able to do so.

Hi! Welcome to the boards. Yeah, I was into G I Joe from '82 until about '88-'89. Got hooked on Legos in '92 and had been doing that since. Bought SE and SS as a curiosity and instantly became hooked.

I like your phrase at the bottom. What language is that?

Short answer: Ancient Shendrin.

Long answer: It is a language of my own creation that I use in the stories that I write.

I saw that you are a writer. I take it you write fiction. That's cool. I'm always coming up with great stories in my mind-just can never get 'em on paper.

Heh, I know what it's like to have a story and not be able to get it down.

However after 13 or 14 short stories, 1 novel, a novel length character log, more character dossiers than I like to think about, and multiple boxes of notes and unfinished projects my problem is getting up the nerve to try and get something published.

Needless to say I spend a lot of time in a sci-fi/fantasy universe of my own making.
