Actaully, if I remember that issue correctly, the driver was Storm Shadow.

I will check when I get home.

... hey, he was. How did I miss that?

... Well, I still lik the guy better as a new character. And it still doesn't explain why Storm Shadow would wear a white mask under his black mask.

Yeah, I knew it was Stormy......I just thought that the idea of another 'non-descript' Cobra lackey was refreshing......... Very Happy

I was waiting to see who 'outed' the secret, though........ Wink

Well, anyway here's a few more figures that would be nice to see.

Storm Shadow
from issue 21
I'm sure some people could get a use out of tis one. Almost but not quite the classic look, minus any Cobra emblems and with sleeves. This is a straight ninja with a capital INJA (whatever that means) that shows no ties to anyone.

Red Ninja Leader
from issue 124
Yeah, I know it's really Fiefly, and I guess you could have a removable mask with a Firefly head underneath, I'd just prefer him to be listed as a new guy and I do like the design.

Baroness
from issue 1
before she got her iconic look, Baroness dressed like this, and it'd be nice to have a figue to represent the old days.

Sgt Slaughter
from issue 48
The real Sgt. Slaughter appeared like this in a lot of the promitional material as well as his wrestling career. I'm suprisd they haven't actually made this one yet.

I'm liking all your choices!!! I could really find a place for a bastion of those 'White Ninja's'-even though there's the red ones.....and I'm not even that into the ninja thing for the Joes. Just seeing that pic gave me some ideas for a couple of storylines.....

The Firefly one, I could see it working......

As for the Baroness & Sgt. Slaughter, having these two in these outfits...WOULD BE AWESOME!!!! I've always wanted both of them in these 'classic' looks.....

Now if only we could get somebody to listen to us....... Wink

How about the Cobra Sales-Bunnies that appeared in a few issues-like when Darklon was trying to sell surplus equipment to Wolkuckuckland?

This next batch is for those of you who prefer your Cobra organization to be low budget and ill equiped.

Cobra Guard
from issue 75
Almost defintley a coloring mistake, the design still looks good in blue and works as an elite agent who hasn't quite made it to Crimson Guard status yet.

Rattler Pilot
from issue 22
One of the better more generic designs and works well for a Cobra pilot

Enemy Communications Specialist
from issue 1
wearing a baggier version o the traditional Cobra Trooper Uniform with a headset and no real webgear, it really gets to tghe point here. Why give your soldiers weapons and equipment if they're just going to sit around all day?

Bullet Head
from issue 8
Something just stands out about this guy. He's wearing a much more bullet shaped helmet, no belts or gear, no Cobra Symbol, and a skin tight version of the Cobra Uniform. I can't think of much else to really say about the guy, but there has to be a story there somewhere. (pink helmeted version avalible as a varient that most people probably won't want.)

Cobra Chemical Soldier
from Issue 11
An even LOWER budget version of hre Toxo-Vipers.
Something tells me these guys weren't expected to live too long.

Cobra Commander
from issue 98
Well, even the Commander has to start somewhere.

You know.. if you go back & read the Dr. Venom comics.. he's freakin bad-arse. I mean, not only is he probably more ruthless than CC himself, but the guy is a evil genius, inventor, scientist, strategist, and one HECK of an excellent pilot.. to the tune of being capable of almost anything, at least with prop aircraft. Read #15.. the guy is so good that even Kwinn/SE compliment him on his abilities, not to mention his common sense while they were taking off, etc.

He invented the brainwave scanner, the SNAKE suits, a system to spread germs through printer's ink (for currency), etc, etc.

I mean, when you get right down to it.. the guy deserves a figure.. & maybe more than any other non-figure character in Joe history. And I don't mean a cheesy repaint and/or kit-bash.. he deserves his own figure (completely). Why we've never gotten one is really something else.

Maybe the same thing can be said about Kwinn.. but in the grand scheme of things, I think Venom made more of a mark (and we have gotten a Kwinn figure.. soooo.. Venom should be a clear #1).

I absolutely have to agree! Why Dr. Venom never got a figure is beyond me. I understand back in the 80s he wasn't a priority (Old man, comic creation etc.), but the comic packs should have had him. In my mind Dr Venom, Kwinn and the October Guard were the most obvious characters to be given the comic pack treatment. We got one version of Quinn and the Guard, but no Venom and no Summer Quinn (which is to me his most identifiable outfit).

So ya, my list includes:

Dr. Venom
Quinn (summer)
Scarface
Billy

Is it me or does he look like Mr. Fantastic in this image? Never liked the wonky art from these later issues. It's like seeing things through a dream sequence, all distorted! lol

I'd rather see Billy in his civillian clothes, maybe in his Cobra boy scout uni, and maybe in his Stormy style ninja duds.

It might not be just you, but I don't see it ... and please don't use "lol" it annoys me.

I just thought a Civilian clothes Billy would make for a dull figure and the Cobra Youth Brigade figure just wouldn't fit in at all.

Anyway, a few more

Snake Eyes
from issue 27
It's just got that nice "unknown soldier" feel to it. Personally, I'd prefer it with a removable hat.

Advanced BAT
from issue 153
with all the BATs we've gotten, why haven't we gotten this design?

General Hawk
from issue 53
You can ditch the trickle of blood and I won't complain, but as I've said before, I realy like Battle damange figures and the fact that he's in Class As really contrasts with the ripped up design well.

Headman
from the DiC animated series
Bit of a change up, this isn't from the comic, but it' still the best design Headman's had, in my opinnion.

C.V., I'm really digging ALL the pics your posting!!!!

I really think, personally (and I KNOW that other's here will disagreee, ahhh well) that for the 25th they really should have gone 'super retro'-given us the most popular figures and then done some sort of poll to let us vote on a set of 'new releases'-I would LOVE to see some of these figures as 'real'....

That would more-less be my list too man.. though I use one of the scar-faced TRU blueshirts for Scarface & I use Hannibal as Billy.. but still, an actual ScarFace & an actual Billy would be choice.

I think I would only add:

Dr. Appel (I think he was a "Dr", I can't quite recall.. he was a CG, etc)
&
Dr. Knox (Cobra could use a mad bombshell female scientist.. lol)

Then between Mindbender, Venom, Appel, & Knox, it would be cool to set them up with different Cobra labs. Venom could be working on germ/bio-hazard/mutant stuff, Mindbender on brainwave & mind altering stuff, Appel on new fortification designs & armament, & Knox on robotics and BATs, etc.

I'm pretty sure Appel was a Professor not a doctor.

Oh, and which look do you prefer you Knox in? I'm more partial to the old low cut look she first appeared in.
