MY favorite baseball player: Cal Ripkin Jr., just made it into the hall of fame this past weekend, and no one mentioned it. (well considering most of you don't live near MD or Baltimore for that matter i'm not surprised.) of the few games i've seen, my first time going was one of his last years before retiring. besides, this town is home to one of the most famous legends of all: Babe Ruth. (i've even been to his childhood home. boy were those people small back then!) well, thought id mention it, bye!

| Rpikin getting into the Hall of Fame was about as sure a thing as water being wet - and quite frankly, that's the way it SHOULD be. Both he and Tony Gwinn, who also was inducted this weekend, were a rare find in sports today - fantastic players who never let it go to their heads. Congrats to both of them, and IMO the hall would not have been right without those two being in there. |

Absolutely. He deserves it for sure. He was dominant in the '70's and upper echelon for most of the '80's too.
I'm very happy for Ripken, he was a class act all the way. I saw him in his last game at Fenway. We gave him a standing O.

Of course I absolutely recommend that if you get the chance, head to the Inner Harbor of Baltimore and be sure to take in at least one game at Camden Yard...............
