Here is a random toyline I was thinking about today: The Shadow, based on the movie with Alec Baldwin.
I have never actually seen the movie, but I had a good number of the toys. I got my first one at a Birthday party (might have been 4th or 5th grade, can't remember) and ended up getting the rest on clearence at Target. I had all these except for the Cab, the Regular Shadow figure, and the electronic Shadow.

Another toyline I remember loving was Police Academy! looking back on it, that was such a strange toyline, cause noone was threatening, and their were no real weapons except for those that came with Tackleberry. Still, this was a fun line and very clever. My wife and I are big fans of the movies, and we've thought about picking these up for dirt cheap on ebay before, but passed. Still a cool and unusual toyline!

Loved Centurions. Articulated figs with interchangable armor/accessories. It was what Sigma 6 hopes to one day grow up to be. Finally got a Jake Rockwell fig again, now just need to track down Ace and Max and a load of weapon systems.
Was big into Catain Power too. Would love to score a set of those toys again sometime. The bad guy jet was my Night Raven as a kid. _________________ . . . and a bottle of rum!

I loved Centurions, too! I still have all mine! Sigma 6 reminded me of the perfect blend of 3 3/4 Joes and Centurions, which is why I fell in love with them! And Captain Power, well I'll have to PM you. I have an almost complete set of the figures that I might part with to someone who really wants them! _________________

I only had Ace,but what a cool toy!
I loved the Captain Power TV show-it was run by the Babylon 5 guy-what a show that was-I cried when Pilot sacrificed herself to save the team-and told Power she loved him just before she died! _________________ I will never leave you to fend for your self,Trust me to stand behind you,I'm Your Glory Unseen

Heck yeah, pm me if you want to drop those Captain Power figs. Not to turn this into the childhood trauma thread, but when I was like 12, my mom boxed up all my toys and sent them to a cousin in Guam. All my Centurions, all my Captain Powers stuff, all my MASK toys, most of my Transformers, and a good chunk of my Joe vehicles. I like this cousin and all, and they were having some pretty tough times and all, so it was a bit of a charity thing, but dang it, I'm still a bit bitter about the whole ordeal. To top it off, I just found out he still has all of them. Man, I hope he appreciates them.
Anyway, yeah I had a few Guts guys. Anyone remember Battle Beasts or MUSCLE guys. I had a few, but I had a buddy who had literally hundreds of 'em. Always thought the Battle Beasts were pretty cool little guys. _________________ . . . and a bottle of rum!

SILVERHAWKS!!
I LOVED Silverhawks.. One of my favorite 'other' lines. Yet they get absolutely no luv anywhere
Another big one for me was Star Com. I still have a handful of them at home.
Captain Power was definitely cool.
I also had Sky Commandos, which were fun _________________ Makes you want to taste the rainbow!

Other than the main lines like Joe, He-man, TFs/GoBots(yes, I had a few of both): TMNT (I had the everything from the first three or four years... third biggest childhood collection next to He-man), MUSCLE, some army ants that had removable tails of different colors (can't remember the name... they were still on our sailboat when Rita smashed it against some railroad tracks), Battle Beast... nothing really significant other than that. I spent most my time watching TV, playing Nintendo, playing in the swamps/woods near my house, and riding my bike. As far as toys go, everything took backseat to G. I. Joe. _________________ Because my opinion is so important, I must post it for everyone to read.

Micronauts ruled everything. I musta had every color of Time Traveler there was. Had both Bio and MicroTron, plus the Battle Cruiser and HydroCopter, and the compressed-air tubes playset thingus. There are perks to breaking one's leg in 4th grade and missing nearly the whole year, y'know. _________________ Check out my Universe Asunder customs! |
