Just curious.. who is going? Who is still unsure? Who has reservations made.. and if so, are you driving or flying? Who will have a vehicle at the con? When will you arrive/depart? Anyone want to take the job of "cell phone # collector" & then eventually e-mail everyone back with everyone else's cell #?

Etc, etc.. Very Happy

I guess I'll start.. I'll be there this year. I seem to hit all the odd years.. lol.. but to be honest, I think this will be my last. As such, I plan to have a great time & send the Joecons (for me) off with a bang.

I'll be driving down from WI & grabbing Chris & Freddie along the way... so I'll have a vehicle at the con. Anyone want to hit a Braves game with me? I am a baseball nut & always enjoy getting to a MLB stadium that I've never been to.

We'll be arriving Thursday evening (I think about a 14-15 hour drive.. so even if I leave at 5 am, I don't think we'll arrive until about 7 or 8 or so.. but still WAY early enough to get together once we get there! Drinks.. late dinner.. meet-n-greet.. whatever.. count us in) & departing Sunday morning for a fun-filled all day trip back home, lol. Maybe I'll sleep & let Freddie drive. Wink

Anywho.. our reservations have been made (Fred, Todd, Justin, Myself & possibly Chris) & so its pretty much a done deal. I'll gladly add my cell # to a list if anyone wants to get one started.

Unsure. The wife and I intend to go. Plan on flying; by that point, with gas prices as high as they are, it may be cheaper to fly... if anything much much easier. There really isn't anything in Atlanta other than a Saint's away game or a Braves game I care to see (may take you up on that Braves offer Drew). Still waiting on more variables in the equation to be filled in before we make serious plans to go. It will most likely be last minute; if the hotel fills up, we may be looking for a room to pitch in on with someone. *shrugs* Still to early to tell. As of right now, things are not where they need to be for us to make it. I am up for a cell list just in case we do decide to go as long as it is not posted publically.

Technically, I'm in the "unsure" camp, but barring any unforseen circumstances, I should be there.

I'll be there in some capacity, definitely. I live in Atlanta and I'm in the local Joe club, which I'm sure will be called upon to volunteer for one thing or the other.

I am really hoping to go............but I've got to see how my finances are, considering that I've JUST landed a new job after being unemployed all these past 7 months.............

But I'd fly in anyway..........and I'm DEFINATELY down for a Braves game!!!

I'm afraid I won't be going. I would love to meet some of you mooks someday and hang out, but I'll wait until it comes back to the west coast. I haven't been to a Con since San Francicsco, and at this point I'd be going to meet up with the JBL crew, more than anything else. Here's hoping for next year or soon after.

I'll be there again this year, and I look forward to seeing the familiar JBL faces.

I'm about 90% there. My wife and I welcomed our second child into the world a few weeks ago and up until then, she was really hesitant about the prospect of me going away for 4 or 5 days. After these first few weeks, she's come to realize the house won't collapse and the family won't fall apart if I'm gone for a few days.

So, barring any unforseen circumstances, I should be there.

As an aside, You know how Justin (General Hawk) is towards Hasbro and new product, etc ? Thats how I feel about the Cons. I am an absolute staunch advocate. Not of the Club, but the Con. I think everyone on these boards should try to make it to at least one in the next few years. It changes everything.

When I went to my first Con (San Francisco) I met a lot of people and made a few really good friends. We spent our days on the sales floor and at the seminars and just hanging out, meeting everyone else there. The nights were fairly subdued, with maybe a quick nightcap. It was a really good time.

Flash forward to last years Con (New Orleans) I met a metric tonne of new people, reconnected with some really good friends and got to hang out again with some of my best friends. The days were spent at a few seminars, a brief stint on the sales floor, then hanging out with the 100's of people there. Nights have become no-holds-barred drink fests (I blame the General for that one - his Minnesota incident has become legendary, but also set the bar for 'letting your hair down'). And the weekend just zips by. There's nowhere near enough time to get to hang out with everyone you want to.

They've definitely become a highlight of my year, my weekend to get away and geek out with some of the best guys around. I cannot recommend enough to everyone how important it is to experience this at least once. I guarentee you won't regret it.

And I mean, come on. Is there ever going to be a bigger hoopla around a Con than the 25th Anniversary? This is going to be the big one folks. And I can't wait Smile

I was planning on going this year. I've always wanted to hit a Joe Con. But, I am opening my own gaming/comic book store in early September so I really can't get away for the Con.

...and I woulld've loved to have caught a game. Heck, I need to get up to the Jake to catch my Indians before I open the store, too!

So, I expect y'all to be my eyes and ears, and for Fred to pick up extra promo posters for me! ;-)

Usually I'm on the fence for a while, but with it being the 25th anniversary and all, I decided to make plans as soon as possible... so yeah, as Drew said, I'm all ready to go, and looking forward to it! Darren is right on the money, there is nothing like convention time.

Just checked their schedule...they're on the road while we're there for the Con... Sad Philly and Houston.

as I said in the other thread I would love to go, it would just be hard for me since none of my friends are going, other then all you cool people of course, maybe one of you wanderful people who live near me would be willing to pick me up on the way down, I would be willing to pay for gas and food if the need be, but if not then the pics everyone takes will tide me over. thanks

so to answer the thread question, well I don't know right now....

oh and BTW I'm not trying to be annoying or pushy I just would really like to go. So if I am, I'm sorry

Nick

Well, as far as I know, Jay already made the reservations at the hotel, got the van and started packin'. So as of right now I am pretty sure it is me, Jay, James, Chris...and a few of the wives.

Jay, if you got anything to add...

So we JoHio fools will be there in full effect. I hope we can persuade a few more locals to hop on the train.

I think we will be there Thursday night and leaving Sunday afternoon. So lets hook up at least Thursday night and Friday night fo'sho'.
