G.I. Joe FSS 4 Order Period Suspended

g.i. joe fss 4 suspended

The order period for G.I. Joe FSS 4 has been suspended, according to an email from the Collector’s Club that was sent to members early this afternoon.  Ordering will not resume until after Botcon 2015 which is scheduled for June 18 – 21, 2015.   Image previews will also be suspended until ordering resumes.

Here’s the email from Brian Savage, explaining the situation:

We are temporarily suspending the order period for the GI Joe Collectors’ Club FSS 4.0 until after BotCon, due to the implementation of the new credit card security protocols. Unfortunately, the new protocols require that we do an update on our FSS server and software, and we need time to implement and test the new version. The timing is unfortunate, as we were unaware that the current software was not going to be compatible with the new protocols.

All of the existing orders are fine. All new orders will have an adequate order period when we turn the system back on, so no worries. We are also going to temporarily suspend the release of the figure images until we restart the order period.

Again, if you have already placed your order, it is fine, and you will not need to do anything when we restart. We also checked with the manufacturer and the extension of the order period will not affect the delivery date.

We will send out an email notice when we resume the order period. The upside is that the total order period will be longer than originally planned.

Thanks for your understanding,

Brian

Wow– at this point it’s pretty obvious that the G.I. Joe Collector’s Club (and by default Fun Publications) needs to conduct a hard and fast overhaul of their technological capabilities. The organization has has nothing but continual problems related to event registrations and IT security for the past few years.

We’ll keep you posted as to when G.I. Joe FSS 4 previews and ordering capability resumes.
