G.I. Joe Adventure Team Novel Hits Kindle Worlds

G.I. Joe Adventure Team Mystery of the Sunken Tomb

By now, many of you are probably familiar with Amazon.com’s Kindle Worlds program.  In a nutshell, it is a platform that allows authors to write and publish short-stories and novels based upon their favorite copyrighted works.

It was just over a year ago that Amazon announced that G.I. Joe was now part of the Kindle Worlds program and in the intervening months publication of Joe fiction saw solid growth.  Predictably, however, the selection was heavily dominated by the A Real American Hero era with novels featuring the further adventures of characters such as Duke, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes.  However, when one considers the history of G.I. Joe there were many eras that were left untouched and neglected.   Until now.

On March 3, 2015, author Jim Beard released G.I. Joe Adventure Team: Mystery of the Sunken Tomb!  That’s right, fans of action, the Adventure Team has gone digital!

Check out the synopsis for this first installment:

It’s 1973 and every kid in America wants to roar into action with G.I. Joe and his Adventure Team, the world-famous band of explorers and troubleshooters who make danger their business. But it’s the Team’s newest and most promising recruit who will face his greatest test – and his greatest fears – to be worthy to wear the badge of G.I. Joe!

Ride with the men of the Adventure Team as they plunge headlong into a baffling mystery beneath the ocean that promises to rewrite history, and face off against a deadly storm that threatens everything and everyone in its path!

MYSTERY OF THE SUNKEN TOMB is the first long-form Adventure Team prose fiction on Kindle Worlds, and just the beginning of more 1970’s G.I. Joe adventures to come!

As a fan of series like Jonny Quest and James Bond, the Adventure Team has always held a certain appeal to me.  Before the cold-war inspired tales of G.I. Joe vs. Cobra, these scientists and scholars were travelling the globe righting wrongs, preventing natural disasters, and generally saving the day.  It’s good to see this era of Joe receiving its due in the digital age and my hat goes off to Jim Beard for breathing life back into these characters once more!

If you’re a fan of action and adventure or are just curious about this earlier era of G.I.jOE then check out G.I. jOE Adventure Team: The Mystery of the Sunken Tomb today!
