Stephen Sommers fired from “Rise of Cobra”?

commanderkrangAn unsubstantiated but disturbing story surfaced over on FirstShowing.net.

According to a post on the Don Murphy message boards,  “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” was screened for test audiences at Paramount and received the lowest-ever rating in the studio’s history from audiences.  (Remember “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier“?  That scored higher!)  The end result, according to the poster, is that Sommers was locked out of the editting room as Stuart Baird was brought in to save the film.

EDIT:  The original post at the Don Murphy boards has been deleted.
